Love this light! I have a German Shepherd Dog, and my daughter just got a German Shepherd puppy of her own for her 23rd birthday. I had to get this for her… but since I have a 1 year old German Shepherd of my own, I of course needed one for myself! I love it! You can put batteries in it- but you don’t have to because it can also be plugged into a micro usb charger, which is what I did. You can choose one of multiple beautiful colors (I like the turquoise best) or set it to rotate through each color by itself. I did not buy it because I wanted a nightlight, however as an additional bonus, it turns out to make a great nightlight that also looks beautiful during the day. It’s bright enough to serve as a nightlight for my entire living room- but not so bright that it hurts your eyes to look at it in the dark. It also projects a small pattern of light on my ceiling directly above it, and a small amount of light on the wall behind it, which I didn’t see until night time - and is really pretty. My TV is mounted on the wall, and I currently have this light sitting on my faux fireplace stand, and it highlights the wall behind my TV and the ceiling with whichever color I have chosen- also an unexpected bonus. I believe the German Shepherd figurine (not the base) is made out of acrylic, which is very sturdy. When you first set it up, don’t be dissuaded by any specks of dust or an accidental fingerprint. These do show up because of the light, but are simple to remove- don’t use a paper towel - use a soft eyeglass cleaning cloth instead. I did use a small amount of ammonia-free windex as well. Use the cloth to handle the figurine when placing it onto the stand- and you won’t have any more finger prints or lint. You could probably just use water if you prefer. I have acrylic habitat(s) for my pet birds, which is how I know acrylic is quite sturdy. I wouldn’t clean their habitats with chemicals like Windex- I just wipe each habitat down with clean wet towel and then wipe dry every day, and once a week will clean with a diluted mixture of Dawn dish soap and water as Dawn is safe (used to help remove oil from oil spills on animals - many of which were in the Avian species.) I actually think washing my sunglasses with dish soap works better than eyeglass cleaning wipes made with windex or rubbing alcohol. Anyway, it’s a beautiful light and I love mine. My daughter loves hers as well! Including some photos of it along with photos of my dog and her new puppy just because they are both adorable.

The media could not be loaded.  We have 3 German Shepherds, so I had to get this for my hubby for his birthday. As you can see by the video, it works perfectly! We attached a plug to the end of the USB cord and leave it plugged in, so I cannot comment on how long the battery lasts. It is beautiful, and we highly recommend!
