Background: Dell E6530 i7 2.7ghz running at turbo speed 3.6ghz gradually always overheating while converting multiple videos, which requires 100% processor speeds on all 4 cores for a rather long length of time. Cores would hit Tj max of 105c in about 20 minutes as the laptop doesn't have, IMO, as many vents on the bottom as it likely should.Tried 2 other coolers, both with 5 fans in 2 different configurations. Both were able to limit processor temperature to 89-91c, one touted a 1500rpm fan speed on four small fans and 1000rpm fan speed on large center fan.This Alien Studio cooler, on same laptop, performing same chore, was able to keep cpu temperature to 85c maximum.My ultimate conclusion in comparing this cooler to the other two, was that the holes in the metal grate that the laptop rest on on the Alien Studio cooler were larger, allowing greater airflow, even though it only has 4 fans. So it is something to consider when purchasing a laptop cooler.My only con on this is I didn't care for just having 2 flip out legs with 1 position vs. the other 2 coolers had a flat hinged panel on the bottom with slots that a bar could be put in the slots for multiple height/angles of tilt. Having the solid base also mad it less likely to slip off the edge of a small table I use my laptop on vs just 2 rear legs for 1 angle/height and the legs can slip off the edge if the laptop gets pushed back too far.For the extra 5 degrees cooling, I'll settle for being careful.

I had purchased my son a different laptop cooler for a 17inch laptop and it worked great for mine, but unfortunately was no longer being carried by Amazon. Decided to give this a try from the positive reviews. I was wrong.1. This does not fit a 17" laptop well AT ALL. Don't be fooled. It sits over the back edge and way off on the sides.2. Does not cool while sitting flat. The other brand laptop cooler had enough vents and resting space that it pulled in cool air even when sitting flat which is how I use the laptop mostly. This brand, unless you want the cooler up on kickstands the whole time it suffocates the fans and doesn't cool at all. Seems to be a serious design flaw there and makes this cooler mostly useless for me.

This is a re-purchase of this cooling fan for my laptop. The first one lasted a year before it went "CHUNK" one day and that was it. It got clogged with dust. Had I been more fastidious in it's care, it would have lasted long, I am sure. Since I had liked that one a lot, I got the same thing.It isn't loud at all, and wow is it cooling! In the summer, it will keep me cool too! In the winter, I have a lap blanket. This one has a new addition to it in that you can turn off one of the sets of fans, the upper two or the lower two. I like that. I also keep it dusted.

I use this for my ACER 16" laptop and like it. It holds the front of the laptop about 2" up and with the back legs extended the keyboard is 4" up. I like that feature because of the height of my standing desk and it lines up better with my other monitors. It has 2 little feet that can kick up in the front so the laptop won't slide off. The fans have 2 adjustable knobs in the rear so you can adjust it if your laptop runs a little hotter on one side. There is a double usb cord that comes with it to get power and an extra usb port as well. The fans are very strong and relatively quiet. There is a pale blue glow under the laptop so that is a cool look. It also folds up flat and has a little spot to stow the cord for travel. Overall, I am very pleased with it and will recommend it to coworkers.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  Last time I spent the day working fro home my laptop got really dang hot, so I went looking for a cooking pad that wouldn’t be exceptionally loud or large, because my laptop is about the size of a surface tablet. This item is perfect. It’s got legs so you can set it on a counter and raise it up a little if you want, and two little tabs on the top that will keep the laptop in place if you’re using it at a steep angle. As you can hear in the video, it is nearly silent. The lights might be bothersome to some people but I kinda like them. I really like this item and would definitely recommend!

My laptop kept shutting down and I could not figure it out. Then, I found out my old laptop cooling pad had gone out. I really thought something was wrong with my computer. This cooling pad keeps my computer cool and has stopped shutting down by itself. The 4 fans are very cooling and I am very happy with it. Thanks for a great product.

The Alien Studio keeps my Alienware laptop very cool, and the blue LED lights provide a nice touch of color to match up with my laptop led lights. The Alien Studio laptop cooling pad is very light and it fits perfectly in my laptop bag, allowing me to take it with me anywhere I go with my laptop. The fans are very silent and easily charge through a USB cable. The back of the device provides options to the speed of the fans, and it has two USB ports, one can use to connect directly to my laptop. I highly recommend everyone to get one. Great purchase.

It does work well and keeps the heat off my lap. However after only a few uses, the folding tabs that keep the laptop from sliding down off the pad actually popped out! I've only found one of them so far. I imagine our cats have the other one in a secret lair somewhere. It's inconvenient to use without the tabs, so I'm not using it at the present time.
