The Mother of Monsters: A Story from South Africa (Monster Stories) Paperback – September 1, 2011

These books are such nice chapter books for young readers. They are different from your typical first readers, and the book itself it super high quality printing. There are flaps on the front and back cover that you can use as bookmarks. Very cool! My son is loving this series. He's a 2nd grader and its the perfect difficultly for him as an above average 2nd grader reader.

My 8yo daughter loves this series. We have three of them. The stories are fun and at her level ( 2nd - 3rd grade). They are quirky and not the typical fairy tale stories. The illustrations are bold and colorful and draw the child into the story. Would highly recommend.
