Twenty-one-year-old George Kuffs (Christian Slater) finds that his girlfriend is pregnant and his brother has been murdered. From his brother he inherits a privatised policing franchise, Patrol Special Unit, and instead of selling it, Kuff joins up hoping to catch his brother's killer.

Slater At His Coolest.
This action comedy about a young screw up who becomes a private cop looking to avenge his older brothers death was one of my favourite films of the 90's. Slater is at his best as the irresponsible George Kuffs who has to make some drastic changes to his life after his brother dies and he learns that his girlfriend is pregnant. There's also a great supporting cast which includes Milla Jovovich in a pre-Resident Evil role as George's girlfriend and Tony Goldwyn as his reluctant partner. If you're a Slater fan, or just enjoy a good action comedy then give this a try, you won't regret it.

Kuffs, a comedy about growing up.
This was definitely one of my fave' movies of the 90's. Young tearaway George Kuffs (Slater)has just dumped his pregnant girlfriend, <Milla Jovovich> when his older, policeman brother Brad (Bruce Boxleitner - Babylon 5> is murdered. Hopeful for some payback, George joins the local police force in order to catch his brother's killer, whilst also attempting to win back the girl, and in doing so learns to grow up somewhat in the process. As the billboard in the movie says quite aptly really, 'Life: what happens whilst you're making other plans.'The soundtrack is also, just perfect for the film's different moods; 'I don't wanna live without you' may be the most moving song I've heard on a film. My only complaint is that it's not out on DVD!

As Good As I Remember
I was only disappointed by the fact that this is not in widescreen format. One of Christian Slater's best movies and a movie typical of its genre, yet it's not given it's best format here.
