solid gloves
I was looking for a pair of 16oz gloves that didn't break the bank but also wouldn't fall apart after a few months, and these really fit the bill. I don't do much bag work, so I can't comment there, but they're comfortable gloves and my hands feel protected, which was the main reason I was looking in the 16oz range. And if it matters, I'm a woman, though my hands are not small. (Just short of being able to palm a basketball.) As with a lot of higher weight gloves, it might be challenging to find a pair that don't slip if you have smaller hands so ymmv with these gloves if that's the case.I will say, the red is much brighter in person than in the product photos which was a little disappointing for me personally, but obviously doesn't affect the quality.

Great pair of real leather gloves that doesn't break the bank
I purchased these to replace my Everlast imitation leather entry level gloves that were in bad shape. I only use my gloves to train with my "Bob the Bastard" training dummy. I would say my intensity level is usually one step above cardio boxing as I'm mainly doing it for the fat burn & upper body conditioning. I typically sparr for 30 or 36 minutes (10 or 12 rounds equivalent) but with no breaks. These Anthem Athletics Stormbringer 2 gloves are pretty sweet. I had wanted blue but it wasn't in stock so I chose 24k gold in the 16oz size & glad I did as they look pretty awesome. Out of the box they were pretty tight on my 8.5-ish hand circumstance..the left glove fit much snugger on me than the right one for some reason. The first session with them was a bit uncomfortable as the left glove was so tight it was putting my hand to sleep. The padding was also a lot firmer than my old cheap gloves, so my knuckles felt it more than I was used to. I have always used wraps but in these gloves I knew I was going to need something more. I had some Everlast gel fingerless gloves that I hadn't really needed to use previously, so I attempted to get my hands in the new gloves while wearing the gels & it wasn't happening due to the tightness of them. So I improvised a bit & cut the gel gloves down to where it was just the knuckle padding & finger holes left & that did the trick. They fit through there with a bit of effort & once all the way inserted there is enough room for them in there & my knuckles are much happier. The left glove was still to tight though around the base of my thumb area & uncomfortable. So I used a Yoga mat rolled up tightly & shoved in the wrist area of the glove & left it overnight to stretch it out & it helped a lot. It don't hurt anymore & doesn't put my hand to sleep. I can't speak on durability at this point as they've only had 2:06:00 of punching thus far. But I'm sure the leather will last much much longer than the fake & peeling pleather of my old Everlast's. So in summary, I think they are a bargain for what you are getting. But depending on how soft the padding was in your old gloves..you may want to wear some kind of gel wrap or glove in these if you're punching with any force. But space could be an issue as stated..so unless you have less than average sized hands I wouldn't get anything other than the 16oz variety. "Happy punching"

Good quality gloves, but just wasn't for me.
These gloves are made out of leather and very affordable, but unfortunately it just wasn't for me.Finger compartment needed to be deeper as I was consistently making contact with my PIP joints instead of my MCP joints. Because of this, I decided to return the item

1 year of very heavy use and they are fantastic
Wow, I'm a pretty big, hard puncher. I train heavy bag, pads, light sparring about 2 hours per day, 6 days per week. I use these gloves a lot. They have held up super well. Still lots of life left. One of my best most dependable purchases. will not hesitate to repurchase.

There was a rough start, but I have been extremely satisfied with these gloves.
[Update 09/23/2020]The replacement gloves have held up fantastically. I continue to use them on the heavy bag several days a week, and the gloves continue remain effective, comfortable, and intact. I have tried out a few other gloves along the way, but these gloves are by far the most comfortable pair I own, and I would definitely be willing to purchase another pair when these finally do where out on me.[Update] After contacting Anthem Athletics, their customer service was excellent. They have arranged for me to get a new pair of gloves with no down time in my fitness regime. I have added a star back thanks to the customer service. The gloves definitely look and more importantly feel great. If they do last, then I look forward to bringing the review up to 5 stars.I workout in a kickboxing class 4 days a week, and I needed some new, heavier, more comfortable and more durable gloves from my starter pair of gloves. The look and feel of these gloves is outstanding, but they seem to be a strikeout in the more durable department.I have only had them for a not even 3 weeks and one of the rows of stitching literally just fell right out. They aren’t the most expensive pair of gloves on the market, but they certainly aren’t the cheapest either, and for their price and materials used I expected a MUCH longer life than a few weeks.

Don't Change A Thing
I've worn these gloves 6 days in a row now on the heavy bag in my garage and can say that they're great. I've thrown thousands of punches in them, and taken off / put on the gloves dozens of times. They fit snug, but easy enough to pull on over the 137inch wraps. The cuff is nice and long and flexible so it can be as tight of loose as you want. The padding is solid and formed to the natural relaxed hand posture and the thumb padding is sculpted so that jamming the thumb is all but impossible. Only thing I changed was to cut the little tie between the thumb and other fingers.. You can't use one glove to pull on the other without using your thumb and that tie is in the way (don't need it). I also cut the strap they had at the base of the split below the palm (what's that for anyway?). These are a super pair of inexpensive practice gloves. As with any glove, be careful not to damage the lining when donning / doffing these Anthem 14oz-ers and you'll find a good bargain here. I hope the Anthem people don't change anything, including the price. If you like the little extra elastics, they're great. If you don't like them like me, just cut them and the gloves'll be great.
