swedish hasbeens Women's Pearl Sky High Platform Sandal

I bought these to wear to my sister's backyard wedding since they looked good for walking in grass and yet still very stylish. These are really gorgeous and I get so many compliments on them. I have them in the natural color.I have a slightly wide foot, and based on reviews for other hasbeens, I wasn't really sure if these would work for me. (There were no reviews for these yet.) I bought a shoe stretcher just for stretching these and everything. However, when I tried them on, they fit perfectly without any stretching at all! I was shocked.I did find that the leather was quite stiff at first. It rubbed a bit on the top of my fourth toe. I solved this problem by using body glide on the tops of my toes for the first few wears.They have softened up nicely now and are very comfortable for heels. The break in period for my flirty braid rainbow sandals was about 100 times worse than these little gems. I can even chase my toddler around in these.

I have a pair of Swedish Hasbeens boots that I wore all through the fall and winter, so I was very excited to purchase these for spring. I tried them on at home and they felt fine, but wearing them outside was tremendously painful. There is no traction on the footbed of the shoe so my feet slid forward inside the shoe, causing all of my foot meat to mash into the toe box, and the inside of the toe box to aggressively assault the skin on the top of my toes with its stiff leather. My big toe desperately tried to escape out the front of this disaster, but was choked by the just big enough to cause pain with every step peep toe. Things were so bad that I had to stop into the Carson's on the way to the office to buy a pair of socks for the day. After getting the socks the pain was so bad that I had to find the nearest grassy patch outside so I could remove the shoes and put on the socks. When I took off the shoes it looked like my feet had lost a knife fight. At least the socks were dark and soaked up the blood. I'm not sure if I should give these another try. They are so cute, but they are abusive. Perhaps I need to give them an olive oil rub down? Start binding my feet? Cut off two of my five toes?

These shoes are adorable. The leather seems dried out though. It is very hard and scratchy against the tops of my toes. I was going to return them, but I had been dreaming of them for so long. So, I decided to drench the leather with olive oil. I read another customer recommendation about breaking in and maintaining good looking clogs by using olive oil. As a side note, I've read from leather workers that you should never use a vegetable oil to condition leather, as it is very different from animal oil. Neatsfoot oil, for example, would be much better to use. I have some, but its kind of gross to think of it against my skin while wearing them, not to mention it's funky odor. The issue with vegetable oil is that it penetrates a few layers of the leather, and then travels back to the surface, bringing up new oil stains with it. Since this was on the INSIDE of the shoe, I wasn't concerned about stains. The outside of the leather (the visible parts) are coated in some sort of leather paint, and I highly doubt oil would get through it. I haven't worn them a second time yet, I am just letting them sit with a nice layer of oil on them. Already, the leather is more malleable and feels like it won't annihilate my toes the next time I wear them. I will need to wipe the excess oil off somehow, but I will figure that out when I get there! For now, the leather feels supple again, and I am happy.

I got these a while ago, and waited until now to review them. LOVE them, esp. now that they're broken into and comfortable. I can wear them all day long. Yet another winner for has-beens. I've oiled the beige ones to darken them a bit (with olive oil); they look nice on my darker feet.

I bought a pair of Swedish Hasbeens a few months ago (for the regular price) and I couldn't even walk from the sofa tot he mirror to admire them on my feet; they were SO painful. I read online that you can run olive oil on them to loosen them up, BUT YOU CAN'T do that for colored Hasbeens. I left a scathing review and sent them back. I decided to try a pair of natural colored Hasbeens and try the olive oil, so I started price watching these. When the price came down to $123, I bought them. When I tried them on for the first time, I noticed that they felt much wider than the previous pair, and there was only one spot where I felt like they would rub against my skin and cause discomfort. I found a small nail file and filed down the inside of the leather that would rub against my baby toe. I wore them to a backyard party where I knew I would be able to sit if I needed to- no problems. Wore them out to run errands- no problem. I wore them to work and then to the market yesterday- NO PROBLEM!!!!I had an entire year of Plantar Fasciitis 5 years ago, so I am VERY careful about the shoes I wear now. These shoes felt great- after I took them off at the end of the day, I could tell how much arch support they offered. LOVE THESE SHOES.

Outrageously comfortable. Because of the tremendous support built into the wooden footbed, I'm able to comfortably wear these for hours despite the heel height. I'm normally between a 5.5 and 6 in sandals and the 6 fit very well.

This is by far the cutest and the best hasbeen I've ever own. I wear a US 6.5 and I bought the 37 for this style and the fit was great! Has enough room for my toes. Worn the Pearl sky high on a wedding and it looked very sweet and stylish. Didnt notice I wore it almost the whole day! Perfect, lovely shoes!

Although I generally require cushioning in my shoes, these shoes fit comfortably. The platform provides good support and ease in walking.
