Highly recommended
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. A dramatic story of terror, heroism, hope, and survival. Nicely written. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a stirring, heartfelt memory of a day tragic and unforgettable . . I wept during the telling and am deeply moved.

Historical
A bit plodding but an important account. Would have preferred no "exclamation points". And I hate "word count" requirements on reviews.

Wow! What a wonderful read
What a page turner, I could not put it down. I cried and was so spiritually touched by each story. God bless all who touched by that day Mr. Ronmingen did a wonderful job of documenting history, because he lived it.

Wonderful and very emotional
From the Inside Out is a collection of stories of people, including the author, who were at the World Trade Center on 9/11 and survived the events of the day. Many of the stories are from people who have not had their stories told in other books or documentaries about 9/11. The book is relatively short, just over 150 pages, and tells each person's story basically from the time they got up that day, to when they finally got home. Some interesting takeaways I had was that, while many people inside the tower did not have any idea what happened, there were definitely some who knew (or highly suspected) what did, and those who were engineers were definitely afraid that the buildings might fall. One of the people included in the book was probably one of the few people who were not killed who actually saw American 11 coming toward the building. In fact, the plane was initially at his eye level before it climbed a bit just before crashing he ended up being below the impact zone and was able to get out. But he was close enough to see the silhouettes of people in the plane before it hit. One of the saddest stories is that of a Port Authority Officer who worked with a K9 unit to detect bombs and thought that he had missed a bomb and ended up in the only portion of the stairwell in the north tower that survived the collapse. His K9 partner was in the basement of the south tower when it collapsed in his kennel and given full honors when his remains were discovered months later. Probably the hardest thing to reading the accounts of the survivors seeing people falling and jumping from the building and just how bloody it was around the towers. Those of us who lived through that day will always remember it, but this book really hammers home the fact that those of us who were watching on TV from the safety of an office or living room knew what it was really like in the middle of everything. Interestingly, however, more than one of the people whose story is told in the book did not realize how bad what they survived was until they got home and watched the news footage. I definitely put this book int he category of a must-read.

Remarkable and gut wrenching
Amazing survival stories beyond my imagination even though I watched it on TV as it happened. Thank you for writing their stories.

interesting but mediocre writing
Was an interesting book and quite harrowing at times.Ted Hanc looking out the window and seeing the plane heading toward him is just one. With stories like this an amazing book could have been written but it wasn't.Very mediocre writing and quite dry telling of the stories.I added it to my library of information on 9/11,but it's not one of the best.

Enlightening!
This book really brought home the detailed reality. It personalized what had played out on the news, often in a loop.

Amazing death defying experiences of survivors of that terrible day!
A book about 911 I'd been looking for for years. The stories just keep coming and little things they say give fuel for thought of what really happened on that fateful September morning back in 2001. If your a newby to facts on this event this could be quite shocking but if like me youv'e read and seen much about it and have a deep interest in what it was all about, this is an integral part of your reading matter and quite a learning curve. Absolutely excellent, could not put it down. Its now gonna be hard to find something as informative and interesting on the subject to top it.My heart goes out to all of these people who put their experiences of the WTC collapses in this book and also all those who also lived to tell the tale elsewhere. We should hope that no other selfish, greedy governments ever pull off one of these events on their people again!

Wanna know exactly what happened inside the buildings, read this!
Everyone should read this book! Harrowing, tragic, heart stopping at times, yet at the end when you read about their survival, you smile.September 11th will always be the day THAT tragedy happened. This book brings you directly inside the offices, elevators, and stairwells of the Twin Towers.I recommend reading this.

Interesting story but jumping from character was confusing
Interesting story but jumping from character was confusing. Also, it was hard to remember who was in what tower. Can’t imagine what these people went through.

Outstanding history
Given the many books I've read about the events of this tragic day I was expecting another I was here story. How wrong I was. From start to finish it's a roller coaster ride of emotions. You get the full horror and confusion of the events laid before you. The book was literally one I had to read again straight away to fully take it all in. Thank you Mr Ronningen for sharing this outstanding work with us.
