BAK 36100 Roll-X Tonneau Cover

I have been very pleased with this cover. I've had it for nine months and have had zero problems. It is very easy to install, it lays very flush with top of bed, it looks so much better than most covers on the market. It does allow a small amount of water in at the corners of the bed in the back of the bed by the tailgate. It has never been a problem given most things stored are not in those areas and it generally on occurs during a very heavy rainstorm. I highly recommend this cover.

I have had nothing but problems with this product since I received it. There are no instructions to follow. There are rivets that are not seated properly, the rail lock will not operate because of these rivets, rubber gaskets that were glued on crooked, and glue smeared on the exterior of the gaskets. I was sent the incorrect rails for the model of truck I have ( the part number is correct, the tonneau cover is correct, just the rails are confirmed to be the incorrect length by BAK customer support).I have also been informed by BAK Industries, that all of their products bought on Amazon are NOT covered under warranty! Now I have a 90lb paper weight that BAK will not replace with a non-defective one. My last resort will be to return the item to Amazon, and believe me, I will not be asking for a replacement. DO NOT buy this product; especially from Amazon!

Great product, but instructions are non-existant. All I could find on the BAK site was a short video showing someone install it. There are better videos on youtube that other people have posted of their own installs that helped me with a couple steps. It's not complicated to install and only took me around 30 minutes as I watched a few videos before I started. I do however need to do a bit of adjusting because there a couple small gaps that are letting water into the bed of my truck. I think this is mostly due to the fact that the side rails got bent during delivery. They bend VERY easily as I did some 'readjusting' with just my hands, but not enough I guess. I'm also going to see if I can get a better bulkhead seal as the one that comes with the cover could be a bit bigger IMO. It's about .25" and could easily be .5"-.75" which I think would give a much better seal as the front of the cover doesn't ever move once installed and the cover gets cranked down onto the seal once you tighten the bolts to hold the cover in place.I expected the cover to be more rigid as its "aircraft grade aluminum" but there is more flex in it than I expected. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting much weight on top of the cover. I think 25lbs would be pushing this to the max. I'm guessing this is due to the design of the side tracks which are made to sit low on the bed rails to give the low profile. This design also eats up about an inch on each side so the top opening of the bed is a bit smaller than before. Not a huge issue for me, but if you use your bed to haul stuff it could be annoying.In terms of looks its almost impossible to see that I have a cover on the bed as my truck is lifted 4". The cover looks great installed and I am happy with the overall look. But there are two BAK placards that are riveted onto the cover near the tailgate, I hate them, but I think taking them off will be more trouble than its worth. I will have to look further into this.The cover rolls up easily and putting it back down is simple. There are latches on either side that you need to pull to release, I wish it was one in the center as this would make unlocking it a bit easier as you need both hands to unlock it. I have had a couple issues with the bolts that hold the front straps on coming loose.

When I finally opened it, the front three inches of the left side rails was bent up at a 90 degree angle. I bent it back down so it was usable, although it left a crease. The rubber edge seals on the drivers side were severely crinkled. After a week of sitting on the truck, the seal is closer to being flat, but doesn't lay as flat as the passenger's side.The mechanical seal on the driver's side is also less than perfect. To get the seal to rotate into place I have to smack the cover's edge in several places while I am pressing on the rear edge.The edge of the aluminum still had saw shavings on it.The edge of the vinyl cover material that is glued to the underside looked like it was trimmed (hacked at) with a box cutter.

I really like this cover! I have had hard tonneau's and roll up tonneau's. What I really like is that I could easily remove it if I ever needed to. Two thumb screws and it out!!!! Second, it seals much better that the BAK Rollbak I previously owned. It's safe and secure and I get a lot of thumbs up from friends and passerby's. And it was super easy to install! You can't go wrong with this cover in my opinion.

No instructions in the box, so watched the install video on their website. The video said if you had an over the rail spray-in bedliner you didn't need the extra spacers that are included, I did, and had to remove the top and rails to install them. The video was helpful, but some printed installation instructions would be nice and might have prevented me from having to do everything twice.Once it was on, it looked fantastic. Low profile and has a nice vinyl covering. I can open and close it quickly without any hassle.

Took about 45 minutes to install...but had neighbor who has had many so knew what he was doing. Well built, neighbor has had 10 inches of snow on top and no leaks or problems. Like how easy it is to roll up and take off if need be with only 4 bolts...plus is light weight and small size to store if you have to remove.

Looks good and works great.
