Good ideas for building partnerships with families
There were many good ideas. The book was a little boring in places so I really had to focus to finish it. Looking forward to reading one of the recommended books they talked about.

Good ideas, especially for "inner city" teachers.
I enjoyed so much of this book. It includes many wonder ideas to develop relationships with the families of your students. It is a quick read, but is not just fluff.

Good, but need more ideas how to pull parents into school events
As a school, we are trying to build stronger relationships with our parents. We are contacting them more often with phone calls and text messages and having more family nights. We have also begun using email with our registration so that we can communicate through email to parents on a regular basis. This has given me a few more ideas, but wasn't completely what I was looking for. While it is teacher focused, it doesn't say more than what we are already doing. For instance, they want to make sure that we are listening to what they are going through versus just telling them about the issues at school. In all of the parent conferences that we have, we always start out with the parent talking and we start our phone conversations with asking what is happening at home because it gives us insight on what is happening at school.
