Get what you pay for
Purchased a cheaper thermostat and it didn’t last 6 months. Paid more money for this thermostat and so far it’s been working great.

Made in Israel, did not fail open
Replaced a real usa made stant superstat as preventative maintenance along with coolant and hoses on a 2006 chevy cobalt 2.2 with 200k miles. This thermostat lasted about 30 miles then failed closed, i put the old stant back in and no issues. Since stant is gone, i will stivk with OE from here on out.Made in Israel, so i figured it was quality. I was wrong.

No 160 thermostat for the ECOTECH?
No 160 degree? I failed it on purpose before I install it. I'll just clamp the entry hose to radiator. Thank you.

Failed!
I'm not sure why I have not had a problem with one of these before? I put this in my 2005 Chevy Cobalt which is kind of a pain to accomplish. Right away the vehicle would not heat up to temperature? So this thermostat failed open right away! This was during summer so I just dealt with a check engine light, which is on of course because the engine doesn't make it too temperature. I wouldn't have left this go on as long as it did but it was summer. And the car has 300,000 miles on it.It's just a back and forth to work car. So I went with a OEM type. And right away it was working great!I would still recommend one of these if your thermostat is easy to get to?
