Michael Flatley - Lord of the Dance

This is exactly what I wanted, the disc was like new, and it worked fine.

Good quality DVD.

Saw this when I was a kid and was thrilled that I could find it here. I remember when Riverdance first got introduced to this country--during the Oscars, I think. Flatley came on stage and blew my little mind away! When the PBS store began selling the full LOTD performance, I had enough money to buy the CD for myself, and I got the video tape for my mom's birthday present. I moved out some time ago and really missed this video, and like I said, I was thrilled when I found it here. Now I have the DVD for myself, and can go back to watching it whenever I want =).

I have always loved Irish dancing (...everything Irish actually...) and after seeing Riverdance I knew LOTD would be great. It was...and this DVD captures all of it. The music is great. And, of course, Flatley and his dance troupe do a WONDERFUL job.The reason I give this four stars is because I found the camera work somewhat annoying on the DVD. As other reviewers have noted, the camera angle changes quite often and there are several slow motion effects that I would prefer not be in there. However, I have read many complaints about the sound quality of this DVD. I found it to be rather good. I don't have one of these super nice surround-sound systems (as I suspect most people don't...) so I can't comment on the quality of my 30th channel ;). I also don't see anything wrong with the lighting. I've watched the dvd no less than 100 times and the lighting quality looks great to me.

We have a very eclectic musical taste in my family. We raised our children with a variety of cultural productions. From Mozart to John Williams...from Andy Williams to the Platters...from The Temptations to Earth, Wind and Fire... from Journey to Parliament...From Elvis to Darius Rucker ...Barbra Streisand to Celine Dion‎ and on and on. So, it was only natural for us to fall in love with this form of music. If you are a cultural lover as we are, you will love this outstanding, skilled stage presentation of Irish dancing. It's one of very favorites.

Nothing too badly damaged.

I've seen them live 3 times, and all three times were amazing. After seeing it for the third time live I said to myself that I have to buy the dvd. It's an awesome dvd, Michael Flatley is a genius and amazing dancer. If you haven't seen them live I highly recommend it they are amazing. And even if you haven't this dvd will make you want to see them live. A must buy for any fan of good music and amazing dancing.

I loved this show originally on video, and love the DVD. Highly recommended. It's a somewhat self-indulgent Flatley as it's his own special creation so far as I know, or at least with his guiding hand? Whatever, I prefer this to any other "Irish line dancing" that I've ever seen, even more than the original that grew from the Eurovision Song Contest sequence that was put on by the Irish hosts that year. All that line dancing is fascinating, but this is also a charming light story.This is a mythical setting with standing stones and the like, very "Irish" in feel, appropriately! Anyone who likes Flatley should adore this especially if "mythical" settings attract you. A good bit of stylish fun

el que no haya visto todavía este espectáculo, no sabe lo que se está perdiendo. Para mí, es de obligada visión al menos una vez en la vida. Además que es muy adictivo y podría pasarme horas y horas viendo una y otra vez esta peculiar danza irlandesa.La edición no es mala, pero tampoco es para tirar cohetes. Cuando introduces el disco, te reproduce directamente la película, o en este caso el show de danza.Además el disco es de zona 1, por lo que necesitaremos un reproductor multizona o verlo a través del ordenador con programas que se salten este tipo de protecciones si estás fuera de esa zona, ya que en caso contrario sólo podrías verlo unas 5 veces y luego tener que guardarlo y no verlo nunca más porque sólo tienes ese número de opciones de visionado.Yo lo aconsejo porque es muy dificil encontrarlo en zona 2 que es la nuestra de Europa Occidental. Pero aviso con lo del reproductor multizona porque 5 veces se hacen pocas para disfrutar de tanto espectáculo como contiene este disco.

Magnifique spectacle que je ne cesse de regarder toujours avec autant de plaisir. Le produit est arrivé en excellent état et dans des délais très rapides.

Like to watch the dancers

DVD took it's time to arrive as it came from America. Sadly they made a mistake and sent me one destined for use in the USA and Canada - not compatible with GB. When I contacted the company they were apologetic and helpful and offered to replace it after I had returned the one sent to me, but, carelessly, I had damaged the outer wrapping when opening it so I informed them that I couldn't return it for that reason. Will order again soon.
