Great product but mine came damaged
I bought this present for my niece and I was so excited - however when it came it was damaged. The box was torn on all edges and it appeared to have been retaped. Better off buying it at a store.

Big box, lost of plastic and minimal supplies
I found the sheer waste of plastic and paper in the packaging of this kit to be ridiculous. What you basically get are a few sheets of paper, 4 oil pastel twist up sticks and 4 metallic markers. The metallic markers require you to shake them for 20 seconds and then you need to push the felt tip in and out of the marker for 60 seconds in order for the paint to start flowing. You get 10 sheets of pearlescent paper (shiny paper), 5 embossed sheets and 6 origami paper sheets. The guide is basically 4 pages with the fist page telling you what is in the pack, second and third pages giving you two origami patterns - a flower and a pyramid - and the fourth page having layout suggestions for how you can hang your framed artwork on the wall. Seriously? That is a guide? This is really an overpriced big box with a few supplies included. I suppose the idea of packing a tiny amount of supplies in a big box would be useful if you are giving this as a gift to a child. A bigger box makes a gift more impressive, I suppose? But if you have a little artist you are shopping for, you'll be better off filling a gift bag with a pack of Crayola metallic markers, a pack of origami paper and a pack of embossed sheets. You'd probably hit the same price point and the child would end up with a lot more material to experiment with.

Really creative and fun set with some amazing markers and gel sticks.
I've used metallic markers in the past and these pearlescent markers/pens are basically the same - shake, put pressure on the tip a few times to get the ink flowing and go. But these are so much cooler. The results on white and black are different - sometimes subtly, or in the case of the "white/color changer" 100% different (It looks blue on white paper.)The gel sticks really remind me of lipstick - rich, smooth colors. Twisting the end extrudes the gel. When it comes to art, I'm "meh." I can detail paint decently, use metallic and pearlescent markers/pens to accent things (I nicely detailed a replica carousel horse last year) and finish cosplay props. But ask me to create a portrait or landscape and you'll have something that your kid would laugh at.I can appreciate quality materials, and I love these. The pens/markers are easy to use and the ink/gel flow is consistent. There's a nice selection of papers including several origami sheets, pearlescent sheets and textured card-stock papers.Included is also a 4 mage guide with instructions, origami ideas and layout ideas for your wall using the included materials.Photos: Markers and sticks on black paper with and without bright light, and on white paper. I don't really get this
I feel like there's a little disconnect going on with this item. The pens are great. Fun colors, good saturation or pigment, whatever it's called. Easy to use. My see pix. Then they put these 6 markers in this huge box and pair it with origami paper. That's an odd pairing to me because I'm never seen any origami that was decorated in any way beyond its foldings. That's kind of the point of it.But then the box itself is by no means sturdy enough to hold much more than the measly 6 sheets of that paper they give you. This just doesn't make a lot of sense to me, so I'm going with 3 stars. The pens are nice, the paper is nice, but they cheaped out on supply and the box to carry it all in.Don't forget to use the Smile.Amazon.com address - It's an Amazon program where many things you buy every day will generate a small donation from Amazon to the charity of your choice. Pretty "meh" overall. Nothing super great. A few neat things
I'm a little disappointed by this set to be honest. The supplies re way smaller than a box of this size calls for, so that is always a disappointment. Materials-wise, it comes with three crayon-like pens that have a pearlescent sheen to them and three paint markers and a bunch of paper. Some is colored origami paper, some is textured paper, some is iridescent paper. There are different sizes of the paper, I guess to make different "pieces of art." I find the finished products to be rather amateurish, but maybe I'm just not creative. You can color on the textured paper with the pearl crayons. They are very soft--I would keep them out of the hands of youngsters. The paint markers are pretty and fun to write and draw with, but to make something worthy of framing, you need some talent. There is nothing in this set to help guide in what to do. Lastly, I was unable to successfully complete either of the origami figures. The paper is nice origami paper, but I ended up having to look up a video on youtube to try and make each shape included in the set. (But I also had trouble following the videos, so perhaps the problem is me and not the written instructions. Lol.)Overall, this is fine but underwhelming. You could just buy the supplies separately and get more bang for your buck.
