Buy the wheel - Your chin will thank you!
I ordered this wheel and I just had a bad feeling that the chin wouldn't like it. Boy, was I WRONG!Within 3 minutes of temporarily placing the wheel in the cage, he was on it and flying like his life depended on it. He's not a small chin, but this wheel is designed with ample run room even for a larger chin. It's probably the most significant toy we have bought for our chin. The unit is VERY sturdy, ALL metal and WELL-painted. It comes with a metal tool to tighten the spin mechanism. I do not see this unit failing anytime soon. I have read about the unit coming apart after some use time. If you're handy and particular, you can disassemble the unit and use a drop of blue lock-tite on the fasteners. I have not needed to do that yet. I have one and ONLY one complaint - the sticker in the center of the wheel that covers the bearing area is a magnet for chins teeth. He tore it to shreds as soon as he could catch an edge with a tooth (as chins are famous for doing.)If you're not able to fasten the wheel securely, it WILL move and it WILL make noise. It's ever so slightly out of balance, but not horribly. When the chin gets up to full speed, it really thumps. Chins tend to hop in the rear (like bunnies) vs walking, so he's rough on it. The handier folks will be able to secure the unit and have it quieter. That said, it will still vibrate and shake even a two story cage a little. Be prepared.About the paint - the chin has already REALLY tried to get that paint off the wheel, but it's not going to happen. It's almost like a thick, enamel paint with a textured coating. I can hear the chin stop the wheel with his teeth on occasion. If you're wondering if the price is justified - my answer is YES. I do not see ever having to replace this unit in the chins life (and they can live 20 years.) I imagine that I may have to replace the bearing at some pint as the chin dust is likely to make it in there at some point. It's long-winded but worth me writing.

Tdlr: Runs great except when nut is loose
This has been in my chinchillas cage for two nights and I've already had to tighten the nut on it twice (both on the second night- once around 11pm and again around 4:30 am when the wheel squeaking woke me up. Needless to say my chin loves it). When the wheel is tightened, it runs silently. I suspect the squeaking is from the wheel base wobbling when loose. I'll have to see if I can find a locking washer for it.When looking for a solution to the nut loosening I saw that this wheel is actually 20 dollars cheaper on exotic nutrition's website. This does put it around the same price range as other wheels, although I wouldn't have minded paying the higher price if not for the nut issue. It can run faster than my chin can and it doesn't restrict her running stride.UPDATE: my boyfriend seems to have fixed it without having to buy anything. 100% better when I dont have to tighten the wheel every night

Needs rubber
Very well built product but my squirrel wont really use it. But it may be because it slides across the metal of the cage into the side. I tried them little rubber stick on taps and they fell off. I would love to see rubber on this product. Other then that well built but wish i would have got the one that hooks on the side of the cage.

Ehh
I can't give it a good review 2 of my 3 rats have tumors so they don't really use it and the healthy one I got it for is to afraid of it to stay on it but one of my sick rats pulled a rag on it and made it a bed so at least it's used for something

Great
The Chinchilla loves his wheel. Plus the company was great to deal with when you need parts. Wonderful experience all around and a a very happy chinchilla who runs his legs off without getting caught up on anything and no one is disturbed while in the room.

Chins love it!
It is not quiet. Not when you're trying to sleep. Not that it is loud during the day. It's not.So we remove it from the cage at night. As soon as we put it back in the morning, they jump on it right away.Would I buy it again? Oh Yes. But I probably will not need to for many years. The quality is great.

It makes my animal happy.
I have a very active hedgie who has broken 2 of the regular hamster wheels because he is so active. My hedgie loves his new wheel. Although, it is quite hard to clean. I don’t know if this is the product or my hedgie waste composition. But if my animal is happy then so am I.
