Loma Vista Mild Hatch Green Chili Powder, 5 Ounces

I can't say enough good about this product and vendor. 1st, Amazon had mislabeled HOT chile as mild, so I rec'd 2 packages (original order & replacement) that were HOT, which, frankly, would likely injure family members! (I did find someone who was thrilled to get the hot, so it didn't go to waste.) The vendor sent me MILD finally and it is wonderful. WONDERFUL!! Authentic chile taste--fabulous in chili, tacos, tortilla soup, etc. I bought it to make salt-free chili powder and taco seasoning. It adds so much flavor, you don't miss the salt! Will share a funny story: Last week was rearranging pantry and the packet of this fell down, striking the cupboard corner, which punctured the zipper bag I had stored it in. Chile powder rained down my front. As the packet hit the floor, a cloud of chile wafted up and engulfed me. I sneezed a long time after that, and that's how I learned it makes a good sneeze-inducing blend!! Transfer it to a well-sealed jar for safer keeping!

Sometimes I just want the spice and flavor of green chile without the chile chunks and the moisture of fresh or canned or frozen. Powdered green chile to the rescue! This brand has a great smoky flavor like roasted green chile and plenty of spice without being too hot, and more about flavor. Shipping and packaging was good and super fast, too.

We love the flavor of Green Chiles and that flavor is lacking in canned Green Chiles. We live in the North and don't have access to frozen or fresh so have to settle with canned. This chile powder gives our Green Chile Stew that extra needed kick.

Mild, I believed people who reviewed it as having some heat. Very very mild. But some green chili flavor

We lived in New Mexico for awhile. We know good Hatch chili when we get it, and this is top notch good stuff.

I purchased a similar green chili powder a couple years ago. It become my go-to seasoning for any Mexican dish. (In comparison, traditional red chili powder now tastes very artificial.) Disappointedly, the identical product was not available when I needed to restock. This Loma Vista brand smells and tastes every bit as wonderful! I'm pleased with the product and the price and will be a return customer!

Quite hot for green chili.
