I have an illeostomy. I know “tape won’t save me from a leak,” as my ostomy nurse keeps advising. However, I feel so much safer using Hy-tape to tape the flange and pouch tape, that’s more like a band aid. Hy-tape adheres to my skin and even after showers, the adhesive is still working. Yes, it’s pricey! But for my piece of mind, it’s worth it. I just feel safer. If I ado have a leak, the tape will provide me a few seconds more to make it to the restroom - and a few seconds means a lot. What truly prevents leaks is a good seal and if you have an illeostomy, you need to empty your pouch when it’s 1/4 to 1/3 full. That’s what I’ve learned and don’t eat anything after 6 in the evening to decrease output throughout the night so you can sleep without awakening to a leak or blow out because the pouch becomes so full that even the best seal and Hy-tape cannot save you. Try Hy-tape and gain at least a little more comfort and security if you have an illeostomy.

This tape securely holds my oxygen cannula in place. After trying different positions for the tape, I use about 1” on the cannula right under my nose and tape it just above my upper lip (half on the tube/half on my skin). Then I cut another 1.5 inches and cut it in half lengthwise. I secure one end of each piece to the edge of the first piece and tape it diagonally across my cheek. This keeps the tube from shifting at all. The tape holds firmly, so hold your skin while gently pumping back the tape. It does not cause any skin irritation. I can reuse it a second night but it tends to get a bit gummy, maybe from humidity, but still holds firmly.

The tape adhesive melted in the box, so it arrived in a conical shape. It's still useable, but difficult to remove and to get all the adhesive off your body. I won't be ordering it again.

Good adhesion. This tape can be expensive, but the price is a good value.

Excellent scar protection from the sun. I bought this Tape after reading another review that said it worked well to cover scars from a recent surgery. You are supposed to keep the scars out of the sun for one year. I was going to Mexico three months after abdominal surgery and I needed to keep the scars protected. I wore this tape in the pool and the beach and never once did it budge! It was perfect for protecting my scar. Highly recommend.
