After trying to use a CPAP machine for 6 months, I began looking for other options. After doing a little research, I found a local dentist that fitted me for an oral appliance. My sleep improved over night, but this mouthpiece cost over $2000 and required a special tool to adjust. After a year of use, it was time to replace the oral appliance. Before paying another $2000, I wanted to try something a little less expensive and purchased a similar device as the Tranquility Pro. It worked great, but after 7 months, it was time to replace it. While looking on Amazon, I found this mouthpiece and have been using it for 2 weeks. Not sure if it will work for everyone, but I have been extremely happy with this purchase.

I'm a 68 year old softball player. I've worn teeth guards for years and decided to try these because they came in a 4 pack and at a very reasonable price. I was a bit surprised when the directions said I had to use a thermometer to check the water to make sure it wasn't too hot as that would cause the teeth guard to melt & stick together. 1st effort - had to redip guard 4x before I was able to get a good seal. I trimmed the length on both sides equally and it fit very well and and stayed secure during use. 2nd effort - Created a 2nd guard after I misplaced the 1st. Not so lucky this time.Thought I had the temperature perfect, placed it in my mouth and bit down crookedly. Guard stuck together permanently & got tossed. Will work on 3rd effort this week. These guards are thinner than all my previous ones so I believe that's why the water temp needs to be lower during prep. Thicker guards are more error forgiving but way more expensive.

I am pleased with this product. I ordered it because my custom mouth piece began to delaminate after 7 years. Not a bad service life; however, it cost $1000 from my dentist. I moved out of state, and could find no dentist to make me a new one. Seems that they relate this to sleep apnea, and don't want to touch it. The FMK is not as comfortable as the custom one, but you get used to it after a night or two. According to my wife, it works just fine to eliminate my chain-saw snoring! Read the directions and follow them, and you will end up with a semi-custom fitted mouthpiece. As one other reviewer stated, it is important to bite down as hard as you can when you are forming the shape. I had to reheat it a second time, but ended up with a satisfactory fitting.

I purchased this to reduce my snoring, and see if it helps my breathing during deep sleep. I've worn it one night, and it made a difference. My wife noticed a considerable difference in my snoring. It didn't stop completely, but my snores are very light. Also, importantly, I don't sound like I stop breathing.These are very subjective items. Make sure to follow the instructions closely to mold it. I found the fit itself to be comfortable, and did not wake up this morning with any gum or jaw pain. I did wake up thirsty, and had to take it out to drink, but that was a minor issue. I would say that overall the feel is more comfortable than the braces I wore as a kid. I plan on updating this review after I get used to wearing it.

I am able to sleep through the night now while waking just a few times (before I was hardly able to sleep at all). The mouthpiece is a bit uncomfortable at first and I do have some concerns about the long-term effects on my teeth and gums. Also, the jaw adjustment feature could be better explained, but there are youtube videos that discuss this feature. Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who is waking up with shortness of breath due to some forms of mild sleep apnea.

This product is very reasonably priced compared to the much higher prices I found for the same device. Once you follow the directions, heating it in hot water for 30 seconds and then fitting it to your upper and lower jaw, it serves to slightly bring your lower jaw forward and your mouth closed while you sleep, forcing you to breath through your nostrils. At first, your mouth seems to think you've gone to bed chewing on a large gummy bear because it swamps it with saliva. Put a towel on your pillow until you get used to it! (And avoid eating gummy bears while using this device.
