Emerald Green Matte Raffia Ribbon 1/4" X 100 Yards

It is hidden and unclear in the description but this is not paper, it's plastic. Like tightly wrapped strips of plastic grocery bags. It looks fine until it is touched. I bought this ribbon in 2017 for Christmas gifts but never wrote a review. I couldn't return because I needed it and didn't have to time to replace it. So I used it for Christmas in 2017, disappointed. Used it again in 2018, disappointed; and now finally in 2019 I've nearly used the roll. I am looking forward to getting some real paper raffia ribbon and getting a real natural look to the gifts under my tree in 2020! The description should clearly say "plastic" to prevent others from being forced to keep an unwanted product.

I have never used raffia before in a project but I needed this for a purse that I was working on. This raffia was perfect! I usually have a problem with the width of the strands in items like this, but the width was consistent throughout and that was great for my project. I don't know if I have a tighter gauge, or if the raffia stretches, or if I got more than 100 yards, but I was able to finish my project with just a little bit over one spool, even though the pattern said that I will require two. I was also happy that there were no knots in this spool, even though I half expected there to be. All in all an excellent product and I had no complaints. I have enclosed a pic of what the spool looks like when it comes, with the plastic film keeping it intact, and next to it is the rest of the second spool. The second picture is the remainder of my second spool next to my completed project.I hopes this helps!!

It said Matte Raffia Ribbon, but it was not Matte at all, actually have so much shine in it. Also really thin compared to all my other raffias. This is almost like a plastic feeling or maybe it is plastic.I usually do not return craft stuff for collecting purposes, but I decided to return right after I opened the package.There is so much sturdier and better quality of Raffias within this price range from Amazon and please buy those, not this.

I was not pleased with this ribbon since it is very thin and flimsy and dull drab color, not the fresh green shown in the picture. I have purchased other raffia ribbons of the same 1/4" and they were thicker and strong. Both my daughter (who bought the same ribbon) and I have asked for a return slip a couple of weeks ago and still have not received one. The color showed as more of an apple green on Amazon site even though they were calling it olive, and their apple was luminescent, so that was not an option. I would not purchase from this maker again. It was delivered in good time however.

I kept looking and feeling this when I received. So disappointed. Raffia can be recycled, it is paper.THIS IS PLASTIC PLEASE DO NOT BUY!

I use this product to wrap up my hand crafted soap projects. It's flexible, easy to tie, I like the matte finish and subdued color. I did break it once by pulling too hard, but usually find it to be strong enough. When it gets wet it doesn't bleed color all over. Good price for 100 yards of material.

I love raffia ribbon! It makes it easy to give great looking gifts. I have plenty left over for birthday presents this year. You just have to make sure you don't pull too hard when making knots. It can break but it takes a really hard tug to break it. The Berwick brand on Amazon seemed a little stronger but both worked well.

This is baby blue, not mint blue. Also made of rayon, not paper.
