KUFA Sports Stainless Steel Gaff Hook

The product I ordered was not only a terrific value, but was it delivered quickly so that I could use it on a trip right away. Plus, after finding a manufacturer's defect on one of the items, my request for a replacement item was honored immediately without question & at no expense to me. That's the way it should be & that's what they did. It was much appreciated. These folks will definitely be first on my list of places to check for gear in the future.

These work great . The Best way to use is to come from below the fish and up. I was taking fish out of my boat and was hitting them in the side and sticking them. That worked until the wood handle broke at the base where the metal stops. They float also that is Awesome.

Grip at end of handle is glued on but not very well. As another reviewer said theirs came off - so I tested mine as soon as I got it....sure enough with a few twists the grip started to come off. The lanyard is merely glued to the wooden handle as well. I re-glued the grip to the wooden handle with silicone and put a screw with flat washer thru the end to hold it and a new webbing lanyard. Now is nice gaff!

I bring this in every kayak fishing trip. I have only used it once, and that was for a 23lb yellowtail. It worked beautifully. Perfect length for a kayak. Nice and strong (simple) design. The tip came somewhat sharp, but a quick buff with a file brought it to the sharpness I wanted.

We bought another of these before and though the quality doesn't look high, it was 'good enough'. However, the USPS destroyed the second that I bought. Broken in 2 places, taped back up and still delivered. Ridiculous. I'd still say that even if it is delivered in good condition - buy a better gaff.

I had concerns about buying a $13 gaff for hooking big fish in the La Jolla, CA kelp beds. Had zero problems. The hook is strong, and the wood is solid. No wiggling or bending with the 4' model. I'm going to buy another for a reserve, or if someone else has a decent size fish at the same time.

This 24" gaff is a bargain at less than $10, plenty stout enough to land just about any fish you reel in. Based on an initial inspection, I'd estimate you to be safe with anything up to 50 pounds, and probably more, if you have a string grip.

I fish light line mostly. On Lake Barkely, I sometimes hook a large drum or foul hook a native or Asian carp. Some are too big to net and the line is too light to lift them. This gaff is Plan B. I used it on a big drum recently and it did its job perfectly.
