Laminated Tokyo Map by Borch (English Edition) Map – February 27, 2015

The laminated material is very good. The map is useful. I wish there are more details on the streets.

Useful map

Borch Maps in my opinion are the best out there as they have the popular spots marked on the map and are laminated so that you can mark them up yourself and then wipe them clean when you are done. Love them.

This is an adequate general map of Tokyo, with major tourist spots and neighborhoods clearly marked. It is on sturdy laminated paper. However if you need more detail on streets, rail station exits, the subway system, etc., I highly recommend the Getting Around Tokyo Pocket Atlas.

It helped.

Getting around in Tokyo, we learned, is very difficult. Most streets do not have street signs (so even if the map does show a street, you can't tell when you reach said street), and most of the street signs that do exist are written in Kanji, so you can't read them anyway. This map is very good, but it also does not have names marked for each street, and many of the street names are in Kanji. We carried this map everywhere and it served us well, but we also got very lost and frustrated using it. It won't solve all your navigation challenges in Tokyo, but it definitely helps.

Good quality. Very difficult to use since the fonts are too small to be read. Can't really read it.
