Baileyof Hollywood Men's Dalton Fedora Trilby Hat

Fit - The Large fits my 23" head well. Not too tight, but secure. Feels light on the head, hardly know it's there. The brim size is wide enough for sun and rain protection.Construction - Although very light, the hat is well built with a sweat band and lining inside. Surprisingly stiff pre-formed brim with fabric sewn to a hidden plastic sheet. I doubt the brim can be easily molded or changed. But that's OK since it's a good look already. The crown is stiff and holds it's shape well for such a light fabric. Had a couple of small creases from shipping. A quick shot of steam removed creases and crown went back to original shape. The description claims water resistant and water beads off the fabric, but haven't had it in the rain yet. Nor has it been in the hot sun, but given it's light fabric it should be good.Style - This hat's style and stiff fabric make it quite elegant compared with other safari or adventure hats. It can be worn with either fancy clothes or for a hike. Keep in mind, this isn't a crushable or packable hat. Don't expect to carry it in a back pack or suitcase. Perhaps that's why it looks nicer than a Tilley or other packable design.Overall - Been wearing this hat for two weeks and really like it. Feels good in the Colorado springtime with sunny temparatures just above freezing, up into the 60s. Looking forward to testing this hat in the hot summer sun.

The hat seems very well made and it’s great looking.Had to buy it a little oversized but, thanks to a foam hat sizing kit, it now fits perfectly and is very comfortable.Wish it had a chin strap so I could wear it on my scooter.

This hat is exactly what I was looking for! I have a size 6 3/4 which is hard to find sometime but this was an exact fit - perfect! Quality of material and workmanship is very good - Harv was shipped in a box with a hat form to protect the crown - very impressed! Will buy more!!

Every stitch in this hat is right on. I was surprised by the quality. Color is just as pictured. I haven’t tried it in the rain yet, but I wouldn’t wash it. Maybe spot cleanable. Great texture; looks like a more expensive hat. Really good quality. The medium seemed to be at more of a 7 1/4 instead of 7 1/8. It was very loose on my small head, but some hat adjustment tape did the trick.

In the land of the baseball cap, the fedora reigns king.I have several bailey hats and get compliments almost every time I go out.

I love this hat. My wife got me one years ago at a department store, and I finally wore it out. Went on-line, and found it at amazon.com. I won't go outside without a hat, so it's got to be durable, comfortable, and good-looking. Also, I lead walking tours around New York. My hat is both my trademark, and the visible cue to help my walkers follow me down the crowded streets - I hold it up in the air so they can see it. This hat is perfect on all counts. It even works on subway tours (Subway Style: 100 Years of Architecture & Design in the New York City Subway. Only down side - constantly hearing "Hey! It's Indiana Jones!"

Wear outside to/from work or walking to protect ears, nose face from sun. Too good for yard work. Generally use another hat if rain or snow is forecast, so cannot comment on water resistance in downpours. My hat size is between 7 and 7 1/2, so extra large slightly too big as expected, but folded up paper towel or handkerchief inside hat under band worked perfectly, invisible. Very nice looking, will buy again. Occasionally I receive compliments on the hat from strangers walking by.

This could have been a very nice hat. I liked the description and the look from the pictures online. The size runs true. I wear a 7 1/4 and a large fits great. The material and workmanship are above standard. And then I unpacked it . . . It was shipped in a box that was too small for the hat so it had to be crushed to fit. I opened the plastic bag it was in and straightened out the brim and crown. The material is creased on the front of the crown so that I consider the hat unpresentable. I dont know if I could take it to a cleaners and they could steam it to remove the wrinkles or not. I shouldnt have to. I don't want to be seen wearing it so I guess I will just hang it on the wall.
