Lace leather is great quality. Thicker than Wilson A2K, about the same as A2000 and Rawlings HOH/pro preferred. The steel needle is better than my aluminum needle. Only thing is that it doesn’t fit through the little eyelets but it’s not a deal breaker. Just have to do that part by hand or use a different tool. Just keep it all really lose and tighten after you’ve laced that whole palm section. You’ll need 6 pieces to do a trapeze, 4 might be able to do a normal I web or similar.

One of the neighborhood teenagers that is a good ball player had an issue where one too many fast balls catching and his go to mit lacing broke. Needing it for a tournament the next weekend gave me a call. I order the lacing (this product) and received the lacing literally the next day!!!! I was expecting the normal standard lacing leather with each lacing in the pack just long enough to do the job. As it turns out all of the 6 laces were more than long enough to re-lace the mit and I had to modify the lacing such that he would not have the lacing break. He catches with the webbing and not the pocket... Thus the way the Rawlings is laced there is a heavy burden on the lacing in the webbing. My opinion is that the "Normal" webbing style is great for infield and outfield gloves; however, for catching mits it will not last for a catcher that is seeing the 85+ fast balls.If you are familiar with the webbing you can see how the lacing was modified to disperse the impact across the lacing and webbing instead of the straight lacing that it was.As it is there laces are of good quality and great for the price. I ranked them as 4 stars as I need to see the longevity of them before I rank them any higher. I will try and update my review later once we see how these laces stand up.Update :The new lacing held up for the entire season. I am happy to say the we did not have to re-lace this mit again for over a year. I am changing my stars from 4 to 5 as they held up well.

These laces have great color--the interiors and exteriors are all pink. The laces are tough, and each one is a good length. They are thin enough they are also easy to cut--even with regular large scissors.The included needle is strong and the threads grip the leather nicely. It was a bit too thick for some parts of the glove I re-laced--most noticeably the top edge of the pocket where 3 laces all go through some narrow loops of the webbing. With some intense pushing and pulling and the use of some tools I already had, I made it work, though.The laces look terrific and are holding up while being subjected to the energetic and enthusiastic play of a nine-year old.It definitely takes time and patience to relace an entire glove, but the custom look made my kid happy, so it was worth it.This lacing would also be good to have on hand for glove repairs.

This might only be me, but I'm having a difficult time keeping the lace in the needle as I stitch, having to replace after each stitch. The leather seems good and strong, the needle works fine. A good product, but can't give it 5 stars due to this issue.

The lacing was excellent, the color, the thickness and it came with a sewing needle.,That was unexpected. I have used this brand before and will continue to use it for all my relacing of gloves.

Great quality

I am in charge of equipment for our 30 team youth travel program. Each year, I pull the catchers gloves and fix up those that need a little TLC. I ordered three sets of this (three different colors) for that purpose and have been very happy with them. I found the needles to be quite good as long as you follow the directions. There needs to be enough of the leather threaded up in the needle, and once it's through, pull on the lace, not the needle. Also helps to lubricate the lace a bit - I use a bit of petroleum jelly, but there are lots of options.It's the right thickness for most glove lacing applications, which is important. We've had some coaches try self repair with lace that's too thin, and that can break easily and be dangerous.I will order more of this product when I run out. You'll be happy with it.
