Great for power and restorative practices.
Iove this yoga mat. I have been using the disposeable mats from Target and Wally World and just deal with the fact they shred and have no traction. The mat arrived this morning in time for Sunday Morning Vinyasa/Restorative class, and oh, my gods, the difference.First, the jute weave provides great traction, so even when sweating I don't find my hands slipping in down dog, or my feet sliding in wide angle forward bend.Second, the thickness is much easier on my knees for virasana, or other asana where the weight is on my poor abused patellae.Third, the jute soaks up perspiration, so Idon't end class lying in a puddle.Overall every aspect of this mat is beyond expectations, from the mandala decoration to the very reasonable price. I am curious to see what its lifespan turns out to be.

Feet sliding/slipping on the mat
The mat is beautiful but I find my feet slide during workouts and yoga poses. I get concerned about my safety and balance as I am more “ mature” person.

Free carry case must be sewn better
Free carry bag tore as I was taking it out of box. Never even opened the mat. Too heavy for everyday yoga use. Torn carry case was a turn off

Rubber smell
Great mat, but it took almost 6 weeks for the rubber smell to dissipate adequately for it to be left in an unventilated area.

Do not buy
The rubber smell from this mat is too strong and hurts my head. It is also heavy.

1+ Year of use and still just like new! LOVE!!
The mat is soft, and the little bit of texture keeps you from slipping like mats made from traditional material. I use the mat daily. Plenty of padding for boney knees etc, all natural so it doesn't off gas bad chemicals while you are working out. The QUALITY IS IMPECCABLE, and the bag is roomy so it is easy to use - I use the bonus strap for stretches -it's very useful. I love everything about the mat and don't have a single complaint about it!
