Problematic Portrayal of Abusive Behavior
I enjoyed a lot of this book, but I was troubled by the way the heroine kept making excuses for her “bully” who used to be her best friend before he suffered a tragic loss that he irrationally blamed her for. She doesn’t even know the twisted reason he begins to torment her, and she keeps forgiving him anyway. In some ways this book broadcasts the message that you should forgive your abusers because they’ve likely suffered too. I feel this is a very, very dangerous message. If anything, someone who has known pain should know BETTER THAN to inflict it on others because they know how it feels to hurt. It’s no excuse at all. It’s like the messed up line you hear adults tell little girls that the little boy who teases them or hurts their feelings probably has a crush on them and doesn’t know how else to express it, as if that makes his behavior okay. Only in this case, it’s much worse because of the extremes taken by the abuser/bully. By the end you’re left with the vague impression that if you persevere long enough and alternately nurture them at the right times and know when to stand up for yourself and say no, your abusive crush/lover will feel compelled to change, and you will get your happy ending. The love interest’s whiplash mood swings and sudden and dramatic changes are a little unbelievable to say the least, if not outright toxic. If you can overlook all of THAT and read it for the sex scenes, maybe, you might still enjoy it. But I do feel it romanticizes a lot of destructive behavior and reinforces the fantasy of rescuing your abuser.

Professor’s Kiss was a slow-burn angstfest.
Professor’s Kiss was a wonderful story, it was so close to surpassing my feelings about the first book in the series, Irish Kiss, but just didn’t hit the high mark that was set by that book. My heart broke for Danny and all the love he lacked; it also found comfort in the way Ailis (AY-lish) did her level best to show him that love and how it shouldn’t be tied to what you get out of it.Danny was not a nice person for most of this book. However, I never found myself hating him. I questioned his reasoning, wondered about how could see himself the way he did, even felt sympathy toward the way he kept himself so isolated, but never saw him in the same light he did. He was the epitome of a broken little boy who’d grown into a man who never learned how to cope with someone caring for him with no expectations.I had a much harder time with Ailis. I loved her, no doubt about that, but she didn’t tug on my heart in the same way Danny did. I was constantly frustrated with what she put up with from Danny and how often she flip-flopped on her conviction not to let Danny continue to use and abuse her. While I understood how much damage Danny had done to her psyche over the years, her refusal to believe that she was worthy of anything was beyond maddening.Professor’s Kiss was a slow-burn angstfest. While the plot, in both the present and the past, was constantly moving forward and propelling Ailis and Danny to address all the things that had transpired between them. Theirs was not a particularly happy story; there were countless traumas they’d suffered at each other’s hand and by outside forces. The connection between Ailis and Danny was undeniable, though; their dynamic was electric, and the care and concern they had for one another bled from the pages – even when they were trying to deny and suppress it.I wish the end of this story would have matched the intensity of the first 90% or so of it. Professor’s Kiss had such an amazing build-up, and I was prepared for an epic ending to their story, but it just fell a little flat for me. If a little more of Danny’s healing had been captured in the book or there were a few more chapters of them being happily and fully committed to one another this book could have been stellar. I was so disappointed that the book fell apart, for me, in those last few moments.Professor’s Kiss is the second book in Sienna Blake’s Irish Kiss series. These books are standalones, with some interconnected characters and overlapping timelines. These books do not have to be read in order, and there is nothing lost in reading one book without reading the others. Professor’s Kiss is written in dual first-person perspective, narrated by Ailis and Danny.Sienna Blake is a phenomenal author. This book may not have hit all the right notes for me in the end, but it still delivered a fabulous story and was quite compelling. Ms. Blake is a skilled wordsmith. Her writing conveys a deep sense of emotion, and her style lends well to the deep, poignant stories she writes.

Beautiful second chance!
AAAAAHHHH!!!Where on earth do I begin??? This is such a beautiful, slow burn, emotional second chance, frienemies to lovers type of read. And it will suck you in!Sienna has such a way with words. She has such a way with these characters. The way she brings them to life, makes us a part of their worlds, is magical.Danny O'Donaghue. Rock royalty because of his mega famous father, but also in his own right as the lead singer of The Untouchable. Ailis Kavanaugh is his childhood friend turned enemy turned student. Someone he's always had feelings for but ignored. Someone he blamed for the absolute unthinkable; a childhood wish come true.Their on again, off again, hot-cold, push and pull is written as only Sienna can. You will find yourself alternately hating them and loving them. Individually and together. That's how well their stories are written. And never is it more apparent that two people belong together than these two.I loved every second of this book. This is my favorite book of hers, without question.

If I could have hand picked a book with everything I like contained within the pages, Professor's Kiss would be the closest book.1. Rock Star ✅2. Teacher - Student ✅3. H a complete a$$- hole ✅4. h who grew into her backbone ✅5. Angst for days ✅6. Redemption ✅7. Romance ✅If this author had thrown in an age gap, I might have found her just to kiss her face.Seriously, this book was fabulous and if you like all or one of the above tropes, read this book.

The feels
I usually read a book in a day, two if I'm especially busy. It took me a bit longer to read this one because I felt so much for Allis and Danny. Sometimes, when a story takes me on such an emotional journey (i mean, mostly i was so mad at him) i can read another book to balance my emotional mood. But this story consumed me and i couldn't read anything else.I loved this story and cannot wait to take another journey into Sienna's world.

Frustrating...but wasn't that the point?
Loved Danny and Ailis's story of how they began...but found myself getting I frustrated and aggravated with thehot cold, back and forth stuff. Still, I realize that was the purpose... To draw us in and then have us root for them to make it. Their art an of music is what drew them together even when odds were against them. Getting to the reason of Danny's lie/hate for her was a revelation.

Outstanding student/teacher love story
Just finished your latest masterpiece and its just that, a masterpiece.I love the dynamic between Danny and Ailis and oh my their story will resonate loud and clear to a lot of people.I couldn't put it down and when my paperback arrives it is going to be taking up permanent residence on my bedside table with the rest of your books (going to need a bigger cabinet!!)I love all your books but this one is my favourite by far.The story gripped me from the first page and I didn't put it down until I'd read the whole thing.I laughed and cried and felt emotions no other author can draw out of me.I cannot recommend your books enough and this one is the creme de la creme.I have followed your work for a few years now and not only do your books get grittier but they get better with every one and the characters are getting more and more complex with have struggles we can all relate to.I think a 3rd one is needed to round out the series and bring all the men together in a story that intertwines their lives in a twist that will keep us glued to the very last paragraph!!

Awesome book - Danny, you lovable rogue
I definitely recognised the lead character in this one.Usually I shield myself from adult fiction, but I took a chance on this one.Great book. Well written, exciting, and titillating in all the right spots. The walking tour was a particular highlight and the ending was wonderful.Very talented author, and I look forward to reading more of her work.
