Your Sacred Self

Life Changing
I have read most of Wayne Dyer's books over the course of the past few years. This is because find him to be more than an extraordinarily gifted writer, but rather a truly inspiring example of how one can not only change ones own life - but also dramatically affect the lives of others for the better. This book is one of the best of Wayne's earlier works; I have bought several copies and given them as gifts to friends and family - I have also bought the audio version for those who claimed that they had no time to read. "Life changing" is an understatement as a description of this book and the overall lesson contained between the covers. No wonder it is still in print after over a decade. It begins with the words "You have been looking the wrong way." - and goes on to address many of the personal issues that confront people in everyday life. It gives insight on re-evaluating one's life and overcoming negative issues while helping the reader to find truer purpose to one's own life. Wayne gives several examples of how he overcame many of the personal things that were keeping him from full enjoyment of life. These included everything from lying and deception, to entitlement, to depression, and even substance abuse. This book is for everyone no matter what their religious preference, while it includes both eastern and western philosophy - if focuses on the similarities of faiths and practices rather than the differences. That is to say - it works toward bringing people together in their ideology rather than dividing them, which is truly the fundamental underpinning of most major religions when one gets right down to it.I have given this book or the audios to people that I know who are in personal crisis, people fighting addictions, and people recovering from major maladies, I can attest that this book and two others of Wayne's have been significant factors in changing at least a few of these lives - dramatically for the better. Keep up your wonderful work Wayne.

Wayne Dyer's Observations Makes Our World Make Sense.
Life is what you make of it, and for Wayne it is about perspective. Are we human beings having a spiritual journey or are we spiritual beings having a human experience? This book is early Dyer spelling it out in ways that even those who have no formal religious background or place of religious reference can begin to experience and comprehend the concept of a higher source. After reading many of his books over the years, I keep coming back to this one.Wayne is now part of the eternal spirit, but he left behind a guide for others to follow. Wayne was to first to admit his human shortcomings, so I can relate to his words on a more personal than many other spiritual teachers who write from a more formal background.

An excellent path to feeling like the person you are is all you'll ever need to make it all work.
Dyer is too deep for most of us to gain any benefit from his analysis. For instance, where I needed to know why my car wouldn't start, he wanted me to understand the ethereal reaction between my spark plug, my carburetor, and my fuel. Even then, I absolutely needed to have him explain the only thought necessary to have a complete life: I am a person and no one on earth can change that. I have a right to have all my thoughts, period, so long as I understand that ownership requires I admit when I have made a bad choice. My copy of Sacred Self is worn out from study.

Dyer's Best
This is my favorite of Wayne's books. I prefer the audiobook to hear it in his own voice.

Reader beware.....
Wayne "writes" great stuff but I think its inexcusable that he gives no credit to The Science of Mind teaching as that is 80% of his books. He gives credit to Jesus, Buddha, and Eastern thought, but so much of his wording comes straight out of Science of Mind. By not giving credit where it is due it leads people to believe that this is his original thought. NOT SO.I prefer Gregg Braden who is humble and ethical enough to not take credit for things that ARN'T original to him.

HE'S GOT REAL STRONG POINTS.
He's got some real good points to share. They can really change ones life. Being very intellectual i thought this would be a great book for me to read, and it certainly was. However, about half through the book I found that I wasn't as comfortable with many of his ideas... so i quit reading this book and instead found another book on this same topic which I liked better. The book I found is: Twerski on Spirituality

One of Wayne Dyer's Strongest Contributions!
I read this book 20 years ago when it first came out and loved it. I think it's one of Wayne Dyer's best books of the many books he's written. Recently, I came across a small paperback on my bookcase and read it again -- WOW! So I ordered a nice big hard cover copy for one of my church staff as she is in seminary and I'll bet they don't teach this kind of wisdom there.

Enlightening.
Enlightening. I like Wayne Dyer because he asks questions that provoke thought. He doesn't tell the reader what to think, but to discover new ideas on our own. This book is a little longer than other books I've read by Wayne. It's challenging because some people can't grasp the idea of their "highest self."

Deep and meaningful
This is a beautiful book. It is deep and calming, inspiring and reassuring. I haven't finished reading it yet as I'm taking my time, savouring it sometimes; glad to feel this is a truly 'grown up' book by a very learned but ordinary down-to-earth man with a lot to say about personal psychology and happiness. There's no jargon or frills or bulk material here as far as I can see: a pleasure to read.

This book has been the perfect hand to hold at this time of transition.
Virtually every morning I have read something here that has inspired and strengthened me to take another step on the path of transformation from ego to soul self that so many of us are facing at this time. Wayne's words here, and more, his energy behind them, has been the loving guiding light I so desperately needed. Thank you is not a big enough expression.

A work of infinite beauty
This is Wayne Dyer at his most incisive and inspirational. With all the events in the Middle East it is very much a work of the moment. Crammed full of practical advice for changing your life this is your handbook for a fulfilling life. Highly recommended.
