after waiting 6 weeks for them to arrive from china, followed the derictions ,only one sprouted,and rooted,but it seed like the air made it dry out and die ,not worth the money or time!

I bought these on a different website but it was the same company. I got them for my Mother for Christmas and I was so excited when they finally arrived. Before I stratified the outer shell I dropped all 10 into a cup of water. 8 out of 10 sank to the bottom. At the time I was pretty happy with the results. I separated the floating ones in a different container after I dried the seeds off. I took 4 of the 8 and cut the pointed end off. I warmed up the distilled water to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and dropped the 4 seeds into the cup and covered it with plastic wrap. By the next morning all 4 had tiny little shoots. I moved them into the living room window so they could get sunlight. Every evening I moved them back into the bathroom so they would stay nice and warm. I changed the distilled water every day until I saw the roots appear. At that point I planted the seedlings into a sandy mix at the bottom of a large glass fish bowl type vase. Within a few days they were dead. I was so disappointed.So I took 2 more seeds and tried again. Again everything was good until I planted the seeds into loose aquarium gravel instead of sandy soil. The leaves turned black and started growing mold.By this point I'm starting to think maybe I shouldn't plant the seed. So I started over with only one. However after that one committed suicide I decided to wait for warmer weather to come to try with my last one.I wouldn't recommend buying these unless you don't mind starting over repeatedly. I have never gotten so much as a hint of a flower. Up until the leaves start turning black and growing mold/ algae it's really beautiful.I will update this if the last seed survives.
