BARREL JOINTER - ALUM W/STEEL BARRELS

This is the proper tool for the job!! I bought a cheap version thinking, how much of a difference could it make... A lot apparently. A mason stopped by to check out the Block wall I was building in my front yard, saw the tools I was using and promptly left and returned shortly there after with some of his tools for me to use (for a short time:). What a difference this Jointer made on my mortar Joints; this tool made it much easier, faster, and cleaner.I have only used the two larger barrels that come mounted on the Jointer, and they have both worked out quite well. The tool feels good in the hand and should last a very long time; the one I had barrowed was in great shape and had been in use for years. Note: A quick wipe down while you are using it and a thorough cleaning after each days use will keep it in proper working order; as with most tools:)

The barrels don't fit well, their hard to change. I need to make them fit. Quality control on this product is not very good. Not happy with having to fix it.I had to use my old style tool, no time to fix this tool now.

not as nice as I would have expected

This is a recommended tool for bricklayers to strike your joints after laying a masonry unit (usually brick) with a concave joint to make mortar water rersistant.

The marshaltown barrel jointers get the job done but they don'it last. The steel quality sux. I like the Hubbard brand much better if you can find one.
