Pocketalk changed the way I interact with people for travel and in business!
I purchased a Pocketalk (along with their lanyard and a protective case that are pretty slick) based on an article I read about travel essentials. I recently brought my Pocketalk to Europe for an extended trip, and the device worked flawlessly. I didn't even have to search for WiFi when I landed in Europe because Pocketalk included two years of data and free software updates. Whether I was speaking to the concierge at my hotel, trying to order food, traveling in various taxi's or speaking with my business customers, Pocketalk made everything easier. I couldn't recommend this device enough, and I've been telling everyone I know about it. Wow.

Amazing product - highly recommend
I’ve been traveling internationally for years and continuously had issues communicating. Pocketalk has made communicating simple and reduced stress. I’ve tried other devices and services (google) and this is the easiest to use with the best translation I’ve experienced. Small and light so it’s easy to pack in a bag and use when needed. Also translates paragraphs at a time - no need to talk in short sentences. Well worth the price. Thank you pocketalk.

Great little translator
I used to use my phone for translation. This lets both people speak without lengthy interruptions of translation. I only used it for Spanish and Russian. So far, it has been very accurate in those language but it is kind of sensitive to the touch. While translating, I accidently bumped the button (I guess) and this little"mouthy" guy just started translating over and over. So, be sure when translating to not touch any button except the two designated buttons. You press one for your language and then the other for the other language and back and forth. It also has a setting to allow not to have to push buttons but I have not tried that yet. Worth the money!

Amazing for our au pair
The simplicity of this device is its key strength. Having only two buttons means people of all ages and tech levels can use it once it's best up to the languages you want. We just had an au pair (foreign nanny) from Columbia move in with us, and this device even had a setting specifically for Columbian Spanish. Anytime she doesn't know a word, she can quickly and easily speak the Spanish word into the device and get the English word. This also helps if she doesn't understand what we're saying. We can communicate more complicated topics and instructions and are sure that she understands. It helps put our minds at ease since she is responsible for taking care of our infant and we want toensure that she understands our instructions. It is a life saver for all of us. I can't imagine trying to communicate without it.

The price should be reduced to half the amount and an update to a more practical version
The fact that after using more than a month, the industry is poor and the method of use is slow and does not deserve such a large amount

I hope you can pronounce words in the foreign language if you buy this
I purchased two of these translators almost a year ago. The first few months they seem to work very good. My fiance and I both use these to communicate with each other during our video calls that we have on a nightly basis. I bought these because I like the option of having built in mobile data instead of having to rely on Wi-Fi for translations. This is because when traveling through airports Wi-Fi is not available if needed for travel.I was having very good luck with these translators until I noticed a few months after we use them I began having issues with the translations. The issue seems to be with the server that offers the translations. It can be very frustrating because in many cases it takes up to a minute to get the translations. For example, you say a phrase in your language and it Returns the phrase in the foreign language, but there is a MAJOR delay time in the time that the translator actually says the phrase that you pronounced. In most cases when you do get the phrase to say what you spoke, the device doubles the audible message and it is unintelligible to understand. The translator speaks the phrases in two voices at the same time and then message is hard to comprehend. This morning I was having a video call with my fiance and it did not work at all. I had to end up reading the phrase that it actually returned. So it did not even speak the phrase that I gave. I had to end up reading the translation to my fiance because we were having an important conversation.Very frustrating. So I am not sure if there are so many people that are using these translators at the same time because there may be an issue with the servers that generate the translations. Even toggling from Wi-Fi to mobile this does not resolve the issue. And there are routine software updates that you have to go in and check periodically and you will not know this unless you check. And in some cases the translator may not function correctly if you do not apply these updates. So I will not be renewing my subscription with the translator I will find a more dependable translator to use in the future.

Had a blast in Italy
My son and his wife Honeymoon in Italy. I had purchased the Pocketalk translator, hoping it would be convenient, easy to use, and accurate. They found it to be so useful, in Venice And some of the other cities they traveled. Small enough to fit in your pocket. Everything I was hoping for pocketalk came through.

will need active wifi to work
Product has worked relatively ok with wifi connection. It did not work without wifi connection and this was my biggest inconvenience as many of the remote places i travelled to did not have wifi. The screen is not very durable and cracked easily. Not a product i will be repurchasing unless modifications are made.
