helpful
This book was recommended to me by by a member of the local Azalea Society of America member. I'm glad they did as it has a lot of good information. The book was used but in very good condition. The shipping was fast and well packaged. would buy from this vendor again and am very happy with the book and service.

Another nice addition to the library
In a weak moment, or maybe it was several weak moments, of forgetfulness, I wound up with three or four books on Azaleas. While I do that more often than I should admit, it never seems that any one is that "one too many". This is well written, not overly scholarly, and nicely presented. Like most books on a subject, it covers a lot of common ground but has a few tidbits of information that the others lack. I guess that you can have too many azaleas in your yard, but they add such nice color, and permanent color, to the shade landscape in the south that they are a plant that comes quickly to mind.

American Azaleas
America is home to almost all the deciduous azaleas. Here in the Northwest, Rhododendron occidentale grows with it's wonderful spicy fragrance. The book presents the 15 species found in the United States. The author discusses, collecting from the wild, growing, landscaping, and propagating azaleas. Azalea organizations, and sources are listed in the appendix.

Good Azalea Book
This book is all I expected with considerable information on growing and propagating Azaleas. The book's condition was as stated and it was delivered within the stated timeframe

Everything you ever wanted to know about native azaleas but were too dumb to ask.
The book covers its subject with wit and charm; perhaps a bit more on individual species would have helped but this is a very minor quibble. I find that Timber Press horticultural books are first rate.

Appreciated by a U.K. azalea enthusiast
Although in my opinion a bit expensive for a small book, it is printed on good paper and bound well. The subject is comprehensively covered and written primarily for U.S. plantsmen/women. Colour pictures, cultivation diagrams and habitat zones are included. I bought the book because of interest in the varieties of wild azaleas I had discovered when fishing and trekking in the eastern U.S. Clarence Towe's enthusiasm and knowledge are conveyed in a manner which retains reader interest. Living in the U.K. and a being a newbie to rhodos for me this book as a starter on the American varieties was a very good choice. Several knowledgeable friends will also be interested to pick up a bit of additional knowledge on the differentiating characteristics and origins of the species that this book contains. This will find a permanent home on my bookshelf and I recommend it to any rhodo/azalea enthusiast
