The Orca S6 took all the great things about the S5 and then improved on them.á If you are looking for an entry level open water swimming wetsuit that offers great flexibility and buoyancy at a superb price, the new S6 is the suit for you.á With a 5mm SCS coated front panel and a 5mm lower back and legs made from Yamamoto 38 cell, you get maximum buoyancy where itÃs needed most.á The neck, arms, shoulders, arm gussets and calf area are 2-3mm, utilizing SCS coated Yamamoto 39 cell in all the areas where flexibility matters most.áá A Powerstretch lining also provides superb range of motion and flexibility to this suit.áá With less panels on the legs and arms, both functionality and comfort of the suit has been increased over its S5 predecessor.á In the simplest of terms, the S6 is the most buoyant entry level suit made for those looking to venture out into the open water without breaking the bank.

Orca sizing chart is accurate
I just want to say that you should NOT size up unless you have extremely muscular legs or something. I'm 5'10" & 151 lbs and size MT is dead on. The suit is designed to be very tight and borderline uncomfortable when you first put it on. But in the water it becomes less tight and comfortable. The suit comes with instructions of how to put it on which I think the people who say to size up ignore. The guide even says "wetsuit is going to be very, very tight" and "make sure you get the wetsuit very, very snugly into the crotch area like change your voice snug. If it's not, it will throw off the neck and shoulders to make you think the suit is too small". This is very true! When you put it on make sure you work the legs of the suit up your legs so far that the crotch is tight. If you can easily close your zipper by yourself then the suit is most likely too big.Trust me, all of this will lead to a better swimming experience. If your suit is comfortable out of water, it's too big! Too big suit will lead you to gather water inside the suit which in turn will fatigue you by dragging extra weight around. All I can say about the suit is that it's fantastic. Great boyancy and warm.

Rippin the Swim in my Orca S6
My S6 arrived last week ... just in time for the Hangzhou Xianghu Lake Triathlon, a fantastic race put on by Shanghai Triathlon Club (STC). Didn't have time to test it in the open water beforehand ... so expected a 200-400M learning curve. Nope. After my first stroke in Xianghu Lake, I knew I was wearing a super wet suit. My size 7 was a perfect fit. Snug, but did not restrict breathing at all. Shoulder movement was fluid. Balance was top notch. Insulation was perfect. Able to zip up back on my own ... and a breeze to remove. All this made for a very "confident" swim. Couldn't be more pleased.

ORCA S6 first time triathlete
Did my first triathalon recently. Suit is buoyant in lower section, maybe a bit much for me but freed up concerns with my first time time in open water. It is not built for speed as the shoulders area is a bit stiff. If you are a novice swimmer or getting back into swimming, this a great suit to get you through that leg of the race. I was satisfied with purchase and good price this suit is at.

Nice suit!
This suit is well made, a bit hard to get on, rugged & when put on correctly, it's tight when your dry - when you get wet the suit will adjust around your body and will not feel as tight. Nice suit!

Great wetsuit. Order size up.
I find this wetsuit to really help with bouyancy, which I desperately need as a below-average swimmer. Originally, I ordered the size MT since I am 5'10" tall and weigh 150 lbs but it was too small and I had to return it. I ordered a size 7, which is advertised for 5/8 - 6/1 and 165 - 180 lbs and the fit is good. It is very tight and really acts a second skin, as it should. The reason I had to order a size up is because my leg muscles are large (calves are 15.5" and thighs are 22.5") and, with the MT size, I could not even get my legs in. So, just be aware that height and weight are not the only important factors. I would suggest ordering two or three sizes and trying them out, and returning those that don't fit. Amazon Prime with free returns were pretty cool! I used this wetsuits in three triathlons in 2016: a 70.3, a full IM and an Olympic.

Great fit and quality but based on the manufacturer description ...
Great fit and quality but based on the manufacturer description I was hoping for a little more buoyancy. For the price I thought it was a good entry level suit.
