This Car DVR has two cameras that can both be rotated 270 degrees, allowing for recording high definition videos from two different angles. The night vision feature will also allow you to make clear recordings in relatively dark environments. Compared to normal car DVRs, this new model introduces two new functions: -GPS Logger: Open up Google Maps and you can instantly see your vehicle's driving track, speed, time, and date. -G-Sensor: Also known as the gravity sensor, this car DVR detects and records any sudden motion or speed changes in X, Y and Z axis. As soon as any sharp braking, rapid acceleration, excessive cornering or sudden impact occurs, you can be sure this car DVR remembers. Great product for the price. Updated instructions and booted up set to English!
I just received my third one in the mail last week. I ordered two of them about a year ago. They both arrived with the default set tu Russian. The instructions were also not English. I had to play with buttons until I found English on the options. Once I figured out how to set them to English I was on my way with no problems. As many others have noted, do not bundle the unit and SD card when placing your order. This unit uses a Micro SD not an SD card.I am a police officer in Houston and I patrol a few apartment complexes on my own time as a side job. My department requires me to use my personal car for the side jobs. I installed one on the front and one on the back windshield. I plugged them into a constant power source so they run all the time. They run 24/7 and do not run my car battery down at all. It makes me feel better knowing that I will have front and rear video of what goes on around my car even if I'm in the mall.I just let them overwrite the old video when the card is full. I get about 7 hours on a 32msd card. I can always unplug them from the accessory plug if I decide I may need to review the video. The unit shuts off about 15 seconds after the power stops and it saves the video captured to that point. The unit has a G Shock sensor that will lock the last two minutes prior to any vibration hard enough to trigger the G sensor. The menu allows several possible settings for the sensitivity including not using the G sensor at all.I have mine set on low to only detect hard impacts. I have had it beep and lock a file a few times when I hit speed bumps going fast or climbed over a curb too fast. Otherwise its a great feature if your in a crash. The resolution is not HD. You probably wont be able to read license plates. But it is clear enough to accurately show what happen and document details better than most of us would recall under stress. Both of my original units have been running 24/7 for the past year. I noticed that one of them stopped beeping and showing "Welcome" on the screen. I am not sure what happen, but the unit just stopped working. I just ordered another one and it came in last week. My newest unit arrived with all the settings already set to English. It was easy to set up and start using. It had an instruction book that was in English. there was even color on the booklet (an improvement to the garble on the last ones). The text is still too small, but you can read it. the new unit has additional settings. It has a vibration setting that I think is intended to be able to tell if the vehicle is in motion. I guess it would save space on the memory card by only recording when the car is moving. I tried it with limited success. It would cut off and stay off until I hit a rough spot on the roadway. It uses a digital micro sd card. I turned the vibration option off and set it to record constantly.I don't use the audio or the camera facing inside the veh. I only need video of what happens outside. The digital systems in the patrol cars have body mics and higher resolution, but they cost $7,000.00. They also break a lot. The price to have video along with GPS that shows your speed as well as where you have driven is well worth the cost. I can patrol a complex or neighborhood and show every street I went down, how fast I was going and how long I stopped for the last 7 hours if anyone needed to know. The software included works great. It shows the video on one side and Google Maps with your location and speed on the other half of the screen. The software is on the unit and is placed on the memory card when you insert the card and format it in the unit. You will be wondering what is wrong if you don't format the SD card before using the unit.I would have given it 5 stars had the one unit not died in the first year.

It's a bargain if it holds up!
Take my 4 star rating with a grain of salt. I'll certainly talk about my bad experiences with this, but for the price I think it's worth the risk. There are plenty of other reviews for this product and, reading through them, I thought I'd just clarify what I like and what I don't.What are the things I don't like? Clicking on the audio, the user manual, the need for dedicated software, and the inability to natively overlay the map and video on export. Probably not worth shipping back if it dies on my any time soon. More to be discussed below...What do I like? The software does a good job putting the map, audio, and video together for a quick review. The price is right. The night recording isn't as bad as I expected. The GPS lock doesn't take long at all. What you may have heard? The user manual lacks a lot. The indicator light colors mean something, but I still haven't figured out what. The internal battery really does nothing more than give the camera a chance to shut off properly. The Map/clock Icon simply means the unit is trying to sync time with the GPS. If it blinks it doesn't affect operation.I have verified through testing that the GPS Icon, when solid, means it's trying to get a lock. Once it starts blinking it has acquired a lock. No, the JPlayer video doesn't look great. Once you export the video to AVI it looks much better. Still not what you'd think of as HD, but it goes from being unable to read anything about the license plate on the car in front of you to being able to read it reasonably well and tell what state it is, if you're familiar enough with them. The interior camera does shine like a spotlight at a very small area but what's in front of the vehicle is probably more important, not what's inside. What I didn't see in other reviews: First, mine was default to English and not russian as other have had happen. Two other odd things have happened since I started using this. My Key FOB barely works and my tire pressure sensors give a fault code then clear up. This only happens when the camera is running. I've verified using my HAM radio that the camera is putting out a lot of noise at 315 MHz which is where the key fob and many TPMS sensors run.All in all it does what I need it to do. If it holds up and saves me from any trouble then it'll have paid for itself. If it fails on my then I guess I'll go to one of the more expensive DVRs since it won't be worth getting replaced.
