Whatever happens, promise that we will always be friends....
********************************************************************************************************************************************************************SPOILER ALERT*******************************************************White Lines, for me, was an eye-opener. I really never knew how powerful white rocks, glass pipes and powdery white lines could be. I had a cousin that was using due to his older girlfriend. I thought that he was p*s*y whipped and would do anything for her... including drugs. So when I found out that he was using, I just knew that his life was over. Not meaning that the drug would over take him because I didn't think it could. But after reading White Lines, I see thing's differently. The drug could have taking him from us in more ways than one. I never realize how low he had become. At the age of 20 he became a bum. Eating food from the garbage, stilling everything from jewelry to big things such as cars from his own family. But by the grace of God he turned his life around and have been drug free for 8 years.White Lines take you to the depth of drug addiction. In this book you will learn how the drug will turn you against your family, your one true love and yourself. You will find out what an addict will do to themselves and other's to get that next fix. The way an addict act while on that high and how it can harm an unborn child. It will also give you insight on how it affects not only the addicted but the ones that love them. How easy it is to fall back in to the past life of an addict and how hard it is to recover. This drug will seem to take the pain, the heartache, hopelessness, guilt and the shame away. It will make one feel as if life is so much better with this drug than without it. But what it (the drug) wont show you are the affects that it has on ones life (from the addicts point of view). This drug....will have the ones that looked up to you, the ones that respected you and loved to be around you look at you with disgust, pity, hatred in their eyes or all thee above. You lose not only the respect that you once had but you also lose the trust the was put in you...and some times the love that was given unselfishly. It's hard getting all of that back. Your friends, family, coworkers, associate's and enemies will remember for the most part is the fact that you were once an addict. For some, they will be quick to forgive you. For others; that forgiveness will come bit by bit. But for other's, you may never ever be forgiven. An recovered addict will always be a cokehead/crackhead to them. They will remind you every chance they get of what you used to be. And some only do so just to make you weak. They want you to remember, they want you to relapse. This book is the first book of this length that I've read without an errors and if there were errors in the book than it wasn't noticeable. It also repeats itself a lot; one page the situation is explained to the fullest, within the next two pages or so that same situation is told again. White Lines is told in third person; something that I enjoyed. But the repetition was a little too much. I got tired of reading about the same thing over and over again. But the book was good thoughThe way that Born reacted to Jada's addiction was horrible. It was almost as if he didn't love her by the way he did her. I respected Dorian. Yes, he messed up. But his love for Sunny was much more powerful than the pain that she exposed him to. What I didn't get was; she said before that the reasons for her use was to block out the truth about him and Raquel. Why not tell him that? All in all the book is great. I can't wait for 'White Lines II: Sunny'. I'm almost mad at the fact that it's only 304 long; that's 193 short from part one. I know most said the book was too long but i loved the length of the book I hope to hear about Born and Jada as well. I know its going to be good!

Amaszing
At first I thought the book wasn’t going to be good. BUT LORD THE SCANDALS. Funny how you can fall so far down the rabbit hole you’ll do just about anything for that high. I had so many emotions about this book some good some bad and some that down right break your heart. In a way I felt for Jada everything she went through especially the drugs. It’s not easy to overcome addiction but I’m glad to come out on the other side…. I loved this book with everything in me it just felt so close to home. The besttttt I’ve read in a long time differently some to add to my collection.

Absolutely Amazing
This book is wonderful. It's my favorite book of all time. I read it once about 13 years ago and I finished reading it again. It had me on an emotional roller coaster. I cried several times. I highly recommend this book. I feel like the characters are my family lol. Tracey Brown couldn't have done better. I'm looking forward to reading the other 5 white lines books. I currently bought them all on my kindle. There will definitely be more reviews coming from me.

Uplifting!
This book brought the streets alive in this story of two sisters who overcame their circumstances. It was written in a sense whereas the reader could practically visualize the settings! This made snuggling up with this book from beginning to end ,my personal treat!

Looooooooove it!!!!!
Man! That's all I can say right now. I. Love. This. Book. When I was in the bookstore looking for a book that would keep me occupied and interested on a long train ride south, this book was in my hands a few times. I picked it up and put it down, thinking that with all these pages, it couldn't possible be able to hold my interest. It was the biggest book so that influenced my decision to buy it. I had not read a Tracy Brown book before, so I didn't know what to expect. Needless to say, once i started reading, I could not put it down. This book went with me every where I went. I was very pleased. The story of Jada and Born is not just your average ghetto love story. The characters were so complex and so real, I felt like they were people that I knew. I. Love. This. Book. I have read this book many times and each time, it manages to make me laugh, make me cry, make me mad and make me fall in love with the characters all over again. I would love to see a sequel, to find out what happened with Born & Jada, if Miss Ingrid found a man to keep her company, what's going on with Ava, what happens with D.J's rap career, What kind of kids Sheldon & Mercedes turned out to be, If Sunny ever finds another man to love, what happened with Born's old crew, what did Martin do when he got out of jail, what is Smitty & Chance up to.....I have all these questions...lol. Now I have all of Tracy Brown's books and I look forward to the next one. Especially a sequel. Tracy, if you're reading this......we need a White Lines 2, like now!

An instant classic
It's been 14years since the release of this book and I've read it numerous times over the years and I can't get enough. I've the physical book and the ebook. I feel exactly the same when I read it, knowing exactly what's going to happen next. That is what classics do. These characters feel so real and the situations are relatable. It's well written and is the reason I began writing my own stories. This is a book you will not be able to put down!

UNPUTDOWNABLE... 5 star and beyond.
this is the first tracy brown book that i have read so far and all i can say is the woman is amazing in what she does unlike writers such as eric jerome dickey (although i enjoy his book aswell) she potrais both the female and the male perspective realistically so they are not shallow. You literally feel the ups and downs of both of the characters (jade and born) and the more you read the more you want to know.however i have to warn that this book is very addictive, as i once got to university and realized i had forgotten the book at home... i actually missed 30 mins of my lecture just to get that book.IT'S THAT BAD!

The best book I have ever read
This book was amazing. I don't want to spoil it just read it for yourself and you will see. If you don't feel an emotional attachment to either of the characters and their relationship, their struggle, then there is something wrong with your heart. I thought The Coldest Winter ever was the best urban lit book I had read, I was wrong. The journey Born and Jada take in this book from the absolute lowest of lows, to the highs to being torn so far apart by secrets and betrayal but the love never dies. A beautiful book.
