Ismail Merchant's Indian Cuisine (A Joan Kahn Book)

we use this cookbook. no exotic ingredients required, delicious food. e.g. try the pepper chicken - it calls for 4 tbs of freshly ground black pepper, which sounds overwhelming. however the dish is cooked long enough that the pepper's bite is gone, and you are left with pepper's perfume.

I've been trying to find this cookbook on sale for years. So happy to have found it here on Amazon.

Ismail Merchant was a wonderful cook as well ( as movie producer) and this cookbook shows the reader how to make simply delicious Indian feasts. He has a 2nd book also which is part of my library

We have owned and used this cookbook for 20 to 25 years. It was such a favorite that it was falling apart. It was with great pleasure that we found the new copy.

The recipes in this book are timeless, when I travel, I pack it in my luggage so when I cook while I'm a guest at someone's houseI have these wonderful recipes always on hand.Recipes are not difficult to prepare and delicious.

I have owned this book for over 25 years. Good, reliable Indian cuisine that is not difficult to prepare. I'm delighted to have a new copy.

The cookery book was in excellent condition.Always a joy to follow Late Ismail Merchant’s receipies.

What I enjoyed most about this book were the stories. I looked at all the recipes -- Merchant was well known for his cooking and entertaining but I didn't find more than a couple of recipes with ideas I'd try. It was an enjoyable read otherwise.
