A Book of Pagan Prayer

I had the first print of this book and it was not very user friendly but the revamped newer version is not only user friendly but allows the reader to use more creativity. I love this book and use it every day.

I have quite a few prayer books, but this is by far the best. It has prayers for all occasions and every day life. Highly recommend this to anyone of the Pagan/Wiccan faith.

I bought this book a few months ago. I didn't even really read it till recently. My grandfather died of covid in January 2021 and I was struggling. After asking for guidance from the Lord and Lady I was drawn to this book. I use a few prayers out of I at night while lighting a candle for my grandfather and also use the bedtime prayers nightly. It has helped to bring me peace and also in the process I'm growing closer to the Lord and Lady. Blessed Be !!

This book is very thorough and a great source of information, as are most lectures and books by this author. This isn't from a wiccan point of view either, which I can appreciate. I also wanted to note the prayer to Hecate, because a previous reviewer mentioned how her prayer was disrespectful because of it's use of the word "B***h", however that's to address Hecate's association with dogs as that's one of her three heads, as you can see by the proceeding line calling her a howler. :)

Other than some ritual content and magic work, most books on Pagan beliefs have very little, if any, prayers in them. There are some notable exceptions, such as OBOD training for the various Druid grades, but what none of them seem to do is not only provide some great prayers to use, but explain the different types of prayer and what their goals are. This is immensely helpful, especially if you are going to write your own prayers.This book is certainly a great addition for your library, and it is a book I find I actually reach for far more often than I would have guessed when I first obtained it. Well worth the modest investment.

Ceisiwr Serith exceeds and never disappooints. This has been my go to book for years! I have given it as a gift several times and donated it to some who feel the need as well as used it to donate for the prize for drawings at raffles at events raising money. Everyone who follows this path has found this a great help so far as anyone I have talked to. I keep an extra copy most times, just in case!Cei has come out with another book that I hope to order at some soon point, though it has been out for a while. It is with a red cover and the title currently escapes me. It will augment what is in this copy and has additional material, from what I have read about it.This book is a great help with contemplation as well as a spring board for ones own practice and prayers in writing and devotions. Good reference

This book was recommended to me by another pagan. I think the concept is great, and it's certainly a well researched book. However, some of the prayers just don't resonate with me, and I think that's to be expected. As a prayer book in itself, it's excellent, covering many subjects, from praise to just wanting help with a problem. The fact that some prayers don't resonate with me, is merely my belief system clashing with some of the prayers that appear to be a bit "oh please help me" kind of thing. You can adapt them to your own belief system however and change the words to suit yourself. Having not seen many books like this out there (if any?), I think it's a gem and you'd get a lot of use out of it.

I already owned the original version of this book and after many years of use the old book was looking very worn and battered. You can imagine my happiness when I discovered that a new version was going to released and I wasn't disappointed. This new version is set out slightly different to the original, some of the prayers have been moved to more appropriate sections, plus there are a few extra prayers here and there. All in all am I very pleased with this new version and it is a huge improvement over the original which I also loved.

I have a great respect for Ceisiwr Serith (what a name!) for doing something for Pagans that Christianity and other "mainstream" religions have had for many years: a basic guidebook for communicating with your God(s). Others have criticised the book as being Christian with various god names transposed for Christ/God, but I disagree. Essentially all forms of prayer are the same, whatever god you are praying to. I think most critics cannot get their head round the word "prayer" and associate it with Christianity. Open your minds and hearts and read the words, without prejudice, and let the images and feelings flow.This book is a great guide for communicating with your God. It is not a rulebook, but a guidebook, and gives those who have an open mind the inspiration to either, use the exact words Ceisiwr supplies in the book, or opens the way for your own words from the examples given therein.The very nature of Pagan religions is multicultural and diverse, so to meet the needs of a specific person's beliefs is almost impossible in one book. This is a delightful book! The prayers are not sugary, complicated or overly wordy, they are just right. They are simply beautiful and this makes them very moving. I feel I can return to them again and again and the book is small enough to tuck into a bag.

This book provides lots of prayers, and mantras for lots of different occasions. It's clear to see the thought put into it.
