Ms. Bradstreet wrote wonderful prose at a time when most women were considered daring if their bonnet strings were the wrong length. This book is a wonderful companion to her works. Anne was an ancestor of mine so I was so happy to find this book. It was used but in very readable condition and arrived quickly at a decent price.

Purchased three copies for gifts.....The history and culture of America's Pilgrim settlers is reflected in Anne Bradstreet's poetry. Each piece is worthy of contemplation, slowly, over a cup of honey-sweetened Sassafras tea.

I particularly like this book as Anne Bradstreet is my 7th great grandmother. I just found her this year and love her poetry. Most of it was written to her husband and children and not meant for publication. How happy I am that a friend took her poems to England and had them published without her knowing. She was a remarkable person.

I found out I was a descendente of Anne Bradstreet, só I bought the book for my granddaughter who loves to write.

GREAT POETRY IN TODAY'S ENGLISH. I RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY FOR A GLIMPSE OF THE PURITAN PAST AND A DEVOUT PURITAN WOMAN.

This was a required book for an undergrad class. The author is a great writer and the book was of decent quality.

I have just started this book. What I have read I have liked. Anne was my 10th great-aunt, I was interested to see what she wrote.
