Splotchy and not soft. If you use get a small orbital buffer!
Seeing white lines forming on my drivers seat I used this product to restore the black. I’ve used different products on leathers over the years, so I’m not a newbie or fool. Following their directions, I went ahead and did the entire seat cushion. I worked it in, didn’t over use or under use. Let it sit for 1 hour… When I came back, before I even started buffing, I noticed it being splotchy. Wasn’t splotchy prior, just the white lines forming.Leather was perfect otherwise. Have always kept up with it.I started to buff, but really wasn’t; getting anywhere. I have the brush for working conditioner into leather, so I also used it to try and move the product. Nope… Had to go back a 2nd time. Really not excited with that, because it can really change the color and it’s expensive! I haven’t had it out in the sun to really look at it, but with a high powered LED work light I still noticed spots. You can see it in the pictures. That wasn’t there prior. It’s not an easy product to buff either. My recommendation, get a small orbital buffer with a microfiber bonnet. Put ZERO pressure on it, and just let the weight and movement of the machine do the work. Looks like I’m doing that this weekend, using it one more time trying to blend this godawful product. I will have to start that this weekend to hopefully save my leather from this…Considering it’s going to deepen the color of the black, I don’t have a choice I’m going to have to do the entire car! I think 45% of the car is leather! If I don’t that drivers seat is going to be BLACK, and the rest of the car will look perfect. That leather is from a 2007 Mercedes GL450, so it’s not cheap garbage leather that wouldn’t accept polish. I’ve never had to repair the seats because I keep up with the conditioning. I’ve used Leather Honey forever, and swear by it. The entire dash is leather, and looks like it just came out of the showroom! Remember, it’s a 2007! Well it looked like new until I used this horrible product. I’m really afraid trying to fix it, because now it’s only going to continue to deepen the black splotchy areas.Yes the pillars have been removed in the dash photo. It looks goofy! Lol… Having them redone, and adding sound damping to the entire car. Don’t like debit, and don’t want to get rid of the car. It’s darn near perfect, and well kept up. That’s what is making me so mad. All of that time and effort, just to have this product screw it up.Considering I now have to do the entire car to get it blended correctly, I started using it on the dash, and I’m getting the EXACT same results!!! I included photos of it too. SPLOTCHY! The more I type this, and look at the pictures, the angry I’m getting!!!! I’m seriously thinking about just purchasing a really expensive product to rectify their garbage results, but now I’m afraid it will deep the splotchy areas! I better not have to take it to a professional and pay them to fix the problems from this garbage. Like I said, I’ve taken care of the leather, as you can see, so I’m not inept to dealing with leather. Also, it DID NOT condition the leather! It honestly made it stiffer. After I finished, and noticed it was stiffer, I immediately used Leather Honey to soften it up again. I didn’t want the seat to crack or tear because it was so crunchy. It seems like that product dried out the leather quickly. Seriously love Leather Honey and swear by it! I think it saved my seat. Make sure you get a brush with any condition to really work it in, and make sure you work it into the stitching area. That’s a huge focal point that will tear first. I followed their directions exactly as written. I’ve included them, so everyone can read it.I don’t believe there’s a detergent. Detergents weaken bonds, to make things fall off. That’s how soap works. Example; It just weakens the bond of dirt and bacteria on your hands. It doesn’t sanitize and “clean” your hands. They state that it has lanolin oil in it. Again it dried my leather out and made it stiff. So either their choice of detergent breaks down the oil, or they didn’t include the oil in the mix. Detergents DO dry things out. Look at your hands after you’ve washed a lot of things. They are dry because it has pulled the moisture out.FYI, No I don’t get paid from Leather Honey. I’m not a rep, or a bot. Realized I referenced it a couple of times, and just want people to have leather that looks good for a long time. Look at mine as an example. It’s expensive to repair, and lord knows what’s coming down the pipeline with supply, or means to fix it. You may have to stick with your car for awhile, and lord knows you want it look nice. That’s why I’m attacking everything and redoing it.

Great, but manage your expectations
So I was looking for a product to "restore" my black leather jacket. It was already severely damaged so I figured I had nothing to loose, buying this is better than paying $1000 for another leather jacket. Yes, I used this product on a $1000 dollar leather jacket.Manage your expectations, I went into this knowing that it was going to be a miracle cure for my beloved 30 year old jacket. That said, it far exceeded any expectations I had in restoring my jacket. I would say that it took my jacket from "severely damaged" to "tastefully aged".That's said, I did apply this gently several times over a number of days. It is not coming off like many people have mentioned, I don't know what I did differently. It will come off for a few hours after application as a dry powder but so far I do not see it being water soluble. My jacket has been fine in the rain. This is a great product but be realistic in your expectations

Works decent
If your looking for you seats to get back that dark original look this hasn't for me. It has filled in some.of the scratches and all but has not brought the seats back to its original black color. Good for touch ups

Overpromised
Think of this stuff as equivalent to colored shoe polish. It will compliment and maybe even deepen existing color, and it quite apparently nourishes the material. But it’s not REcoloring anything.I used this on the steering wheel of my 34-year-old car. The first picture is after three applications of Doc Bailey’s. The last application I laid on thick and left for hours before buffing. Still barely any change in the worn spots. The second picture is after I applied Fiebing’s USMC black dye, and then applied Doc Bailey’s again. Beautiful. This is a finisher, not a restorer. Aside from the overpromising on that front, it’s far too expensive for what it is.

This product is amazing!
My Black E34 BMW seats were faded, and the stitches were white. I couldn't believe how easy it was to apply, and the results were way above expectation. I've done lots of auto body work, and also wood work as a hobby, so I did pay particular attention to the preparation. I scrubbed these down several times with hot water and detergent. It went on without streaking or blotching or any issues. It says to buff it after it drys, which is pretty quick, but for best results, wait for an hour. I waited a couple hours then used my Waxmaster and a wool buffing pad (I use it for everything else, why not this?) If I have to add more at places where it was particularly dry or faded, I am absolutely confident I can to that with seamless results.
