It took the plumber 5 minutes to do the install and my husband is very happy with his selection.

The whole thing is plastic including the treads for the hose. If there is metal, it is a foil over the plastic to make it look metal. If I wanted a plastic wand I would have purchased somewhere for 1/2 the cost. Look around a reviews for this series of wand in a different finish. They will confirm this review.Update: For some reason a 5 star review was given on this item without any headline or write-up. Didn't know you could do that. Could it be because they are trying to lift the ratings?

Generally I really like kohler's purist line--this hand shower is a disappointment. First of all its mostly plastic and a bit large and cheap looking. More importantly the water pressure is abysmal for a hand shower and that's after removing the flow restrictor. Hand showers tend to be a little higher pressure to really remove the soap and shampoo and this one is weaker than the main shower head. Overall it is okay but for the price and the kohler brand I expected better. I'll be looking for something better.

Cheap molded plastic handshower for $135 - with much better alternatives on Amazon found for less than $20.The only reason I got it was that it matches everything else in my newly remodeled bathroom. Shocked though to find this to be a Kohler product.Be very careful when attaching the hose to it - only hand-tighten as the wrench will crack it to pieces. Also make sure to remove this horrendous water restrictor plastic part inside the handle - it delivers few drops of water with it inside - a non-starter. It's easy to yank it out with pliers - then put the retainer clip back in.

The shower head itself is leaking not the connections - absolute waste of money
