This water heater is the the perfect choice if your priority is to minimize plastic use. I have searched high and low, reading way too many reviews of way too many different electric water kettles. Let me summarize for you: generally the great divide in people's preferences are: 1. those who want fast heating; 2. those who want to see how much water is in the kettle; 3. those who want zero plastic touching water. If you want #1 and 3, this is the kettle for you. I'm not sure why #2 is that important, but if it irks you to not know exactly how much water is being heated, this kettle is not for you.In spring 2018, the American Academy of Pediatrics released a recommendation to minimize plastic use for children's food containers (baby bottle, plates, bowls), based on a study that showed that in high heat conditions such as dish washer and microwave, even BPA free plastic will release chemicals into its contents. Don't wait for scientists to prove that it's bad to use plastics when heating up things. Most of the kettles out there have some plastic component touching the water, be it the window that tell you how much water is inside, the lid, or even the filter at the spout. This is one of very few that I found to be plastic free in all parts that come in contact with the water you are drinking.I likes this kettle, because it looks nice, and does a fine job heating up water, does so quickly and safety with its automatic shut off feature. So go ahead and buy this, you'll like it. Except if you just can't stand having heated slightly too much or too little water. Or you know, you could use a measuring cup to put in the exact amount of water you want. There, problem solved, and this is still the perfect kettle.

I was excited when this finally arrived. I've been a stove top water boiler for a while but my tea kettle was becoming warped and noisy, so I thought I'd try an electric kettle.I read the instructions; which were pretty standard: Don't burn yourself and electricity plus water is bad.I gave it the recommended cleaning and filled the kettle a little below max fill. Then I put it on the base, plugged it in and flipped the switch.It was so much quieter than I was expecting and boiled the water in just a few minutes. The outside was safe to touch as well.I'm really happy and think its great for the money.

We have had this kettle for about 6 weeks now and we are really pleased with this purchase. As the pictures show, the outside is a very rich looking reflective black heat resistant plastic, but on the inside it is 100% food grade stainless steel The Stainless Steel appears to be made from one piece of metal, which means no seam and no crevice in which you can get bacteria. In our previous kettle from another manufacturer, there was a crevice and it was very hard to clean and when we first got it, it had a strong smell and taste to the water that took several weeks to go away. This one was perfect right from the start and is much more hygienic than other designs. We have not had to clean it even once and there is no calcium buildup on the stainless as we used to get. It looks like this will rarely need any cleaning which is a big plus. It appears to be quality all around and will last a long time. Overall, we are very pleased and would definitely recommend to others

I really liked it at first- it took me awhile to unbox. Unfortunately- within the first few weeks of use- the metal inside started to rust.I only cleaned it by boiling the vinegar solution as instructed and never used anything abrasive on the inside.I wish I opened and used it right away so I could have learned of this defect and returned it within the return window. I hope it was a defected product and the other kettles don’t have this same issue- I’m super disappointed.//Amendment!!!! Customer service reached out to me/ inquired about the kettle and worked with me to make it right. The whole process was resolved in a matter of a few days and the replacement just arrived. I am super excited to have it and am hopeful. Again- the ease of use, design, everything was great- they obviously stand by their product and so many other people love it- I’m happy to try it again!!

Seemed to heat as fast as my old solid metal kettle (which also had electric base). Noticeably lighter in weight when filled with same amount of water. Too tall for spacing in our kitchen cabinets - but of course that varies. Nice looking.Negatives: 1. critical to keep filling below max level: hot water spews out spout if overfilled at all.2. Cannot tilt back or hot water runs out back and down over your hand!3. Spout is thick - making for more dribbly pouring - say into cone filter for coffee. My old kettle had solid metal spout and was much thinner/less dribbly4. Lid is attached and doesn't tilt back as far as I'd like5. Basically seems to be a plastic shell with metal liner - rather than solid metal as my old kettleUpdate:In response to my concerns over the "dribbly" spout of the plastic version, Miroco sent me one with an exterior made of stainless steel - a far better kettle! Model MI-EK001This version pours very well, even at slow rates. It holds more than my older squatty kettle, and has temperature control with several settings. Hard to tell, but it might even heat up faster than old kettle. It even has a setting to maintain temperature in the kettle - presumably for long periods.It has an external level indicator, plus a blue backlight which is on when kettle heating up.

This is the perfect electric kettle I was looking for on my dark countertop. The appearance of the kettle is so modern yet it does not lose its original function - boiling water. For the whole 1.5 L, it takes 4 minutes and 30 seconds. (Yes, I used my timer to record it!) The kettle turns off automatically after that. The handle is smooth to carry the kettle. The inside is very easy to clean since there is no hidden corner. The lid is flat so that you can easily clean it as well. For an electric kettle at this price, I am happy with what I paid for.

Hello,When I bought this item originally, I thought something was wrong with it. Was getting a lot of spots at the bottom often, like every two days. Had to constantly clean with vinegar to get rid of them. I did research and it turned out, to have been limescale according to the research. This is normal, but something recently occurred that made us discover the real issue. Our water was tested positive for lead. This was causing the spots as I said, to turn up every two days or so after use. It was super frustrating! We just got new filters for our bathroom and kitchen sinks (filters that are placed under the sinks) and to my surprise...it has been two weeks and we have NOT gotten the spots on the kettle again now that our water is purified. So, it wasn't the tea kettle...it wasn't normal, it was likely that our water had lead. I have not had to clean the kettle with vinegar since. I just wanted to write this to bring awareness. I also want to say that Miroco has excellent customer service. The Kettle is beautiful and now that we have clean water to start with, it is an excellent product.

I was so excited to get this kettle as I really wanted a kettle that was all stainless steel. I was willing to sacrifice a water level indicator for knowing that I wasn't exposing myself or my family to BPA.Unfortunately, the bottom of the box has a cancer and reproductive harm warning. I'm going to have to reach out to the company to investigate this before making a decision to use it.I have tested it a few times. The water boils quickly but the pour itself is a little messy compared to my previous kettle that I'm replacing after 11 years. The access to in interior is nice and it can be cleaned easily. I'm wondering if the large holes in the filter will be enough to filter build-up however. I can't report on that at this point though. It is a really nice looking kettle but I'm not completely satisfied after doing a lot of research.

Some whiners called it bad only because it's from China but most things are from there because the North America loves globalization. The interior is completely stainless steel and the water doesn't touch plastic though the outside is plastic if that's a big issue for anyone. This thing only took a couple minutes to boil. It gets loud but it thankfully doesn't whistle. You don't have to worry about it sitting too long it's got an auto shut off feature that turns off when the water starts bubbling It's simple to use as it only has one button and a light that shows it's on and turns off when it automatically shuts off. However it'll really make only about 3 mugs at a time but since it boils so quickly that shouldn't matter too much. It's pretty light and not bulky and you won't burn your hands on this thing when holding it as the plastic barely gets warmed up. I've had old fashioned kettles and this thing was a total upgrade and made the experience of making hot chocolate simple and enjoyable and good with my impatience for cooking times.

Me gusta mucho este hervidor, me tranquiliza mucho que el agua caliente no tenga contacto con plástico (BPA para ser mas especifica) el diseño es simple y a la vez elegante, hierve agua bastante rápido (1 1/2 litros en poco menos de 5 minutos), así que ahorra tiempo en la cocina ya que ademas de te y café, la uso para calentar agua de mis pastas, sopas o cualquier alimento que vaya a cocer.Ya tengo poco mas de 4 meses usándola, prácticamente a diario y su funcionamiento ha sido muy bueno. Es de esas cosas que no se porque no había comprado antes!
