Best headlamp to date!
I don't understand the low reviewers. I hiked the PCT with this, and it was one of the only pieces of equipment I had zero complaints about. I couldn't say enough good things about it! I told any other hikers I came across how fantastic this light was. Three years later, and it's still burning strong. It lives in my carry bag and rarely needs a recharge. I did a lot of night hiking through the Mojave, and could go three days on a single charge (though I admittedly liked to night-hike without a lamp as much as the terrain allowed). Very quick to recharge as well. I hesitated at the price before purchasing, but with all the other expenses of travel factored in, this was one of the few products that was well worth the sticker price.

Getting closer to what you want, but over priced.
good: can recharge directly with a USB cable, ultralight and smallbad: over priced, light is pretty dim. packaging lamp feature is a cheap gimmic. The bright mode is really a spot so is too focused to be useful for many things and the spread is pretty dim. It would be really nice to have a well spread150-200 lumen light mode. It would cook the battery quickly. I could not get the thing to delete the extra light modes despite following directions to hold the two buttons for the requisite time.Sadly this light is still the best on the market for ultralight back packing (assuming you either are not out for too long, or have brought along an extra battery pack), but it still has significant tradeoffs that are not represented in price. I will be using it on the AZT. Hopefully some other company will come up with something better soon. Petzl has some goodish lights, but they have the adaptive light level which makes it impossible to manage battery life while out for a long time. Also they are heavier with more battery and brighter light.

One of my favorite purchases
Love this product. When I first considered buying this lamp, I was worried about the cost /benefit. I bought this for use in emergencies and have a camp stove that can charge it. Well after owning it for the past month I am amazed at how often I use this headlamp. It is comfortable to wear and has several modes that allow you to change the strength of the light and mode. It is amazing how much you can get done when you able to use both of your hands on a project. I also use it when going on walks or digging through the basement. I definitely recommend this product.

Field tested, hiker approved
Used this on a section hike on the John Muir Trail. Lightweight, but super bright. I bring an external battery with me to recharge iphone and Garmin Virb camera, so this was easy to recharge in the field. Buttons took me a while to figure out, but once I did (and reprogrammed to remove some modes I never use like flashing mode), it was very easy to use.Being able to lock it when off is great for throwing it the backpack and not worrying about it accidentally turning on and running out the battery.I folded the lantern thingie, a novel idea, but it didn't end up in my pack for the trip.

Cheap, unreliable Chinese batteries fail when you need them most.
Bought a light directly from the manufacturer one year ago. Now the lamp does not work it flashes red and we'll occasionally turn to either of the white modes despite charging it I cannot get reliable performance. My favorite headlamp the Tikka xp2 no longer has the rechargeable battery. I hate adaptive lighting.I encouraged my friend to buy this lamp and he got stuck on top of Camels Hump in Vermont on a night hike and it failed I had to drive up and get him. Not worth the weight savings.

Great addition to any travel bag or toolbox
Outstanding headlamp! already survived a jungle excursion to Panama, a weekend of drag racing, several mechanic repair jobs and late evening yard work. headband does is job and the hinged front panel helps when whirling under the hood. The only improvements I would recommend is a travel bag/case to be used to protect the lens. Mine is already showing signs of scratching, my fault. The other for the type of use that I put the light through I would prefer having a flood light option instead of the red light. Outstanding and durable light A+

The last Headlamp you'll need to buy!
This headlamp is used nightly when feeding 3 feral cat colonies. Light does not dim, charge seems to last FOREVER, super easy to use, extremely well constructed and designed, a million times better than the 'big box' headlamps previously bought. OK - it is costly BUT worth every cent. A quality product - I'm so glad I splurged and got it.
