I have learned some new ways to make pretty pretties in this book. i ran across this artist on Curious Mondo and have scince bought several of her books. the unfortunate part of the book is the time i have spent scouring the internet for the crystals to make all the jewelry patterns offered. the fortunate part is the beauties i now have in my jewelry box. usually i buy a book scan it and put it on the shelf, but not this one!

When it comes to jewelry and bead weaving books, most are of a pretty basic nature. Not this one!!! Few and far between are the ones that showcase designs that seem to be more elaborate or are of a style that I myself would actually want to design or wear. Kelly Weis has definitely delivered! I purchased the Kindle version and I will definitely be adding the paper copy to my library as well. This review is for the Kindle version. The photographs of the designs are beautiful and the directions are well laid out. My only issue is that on the photographs, they are hard to see the details and when you zoom in, they tend to get blurry. One good note, the individual diagrams are superb and easy to follow! Even when zooming in, they stay perfectly clear with easy to follow thread paths! I especially love how you can zoom in on each diagram individually. Even though, the designs within this book are seemingly more advanced, I truly feel that even less experienced beaders will also be able to work up these designs with no real problems by following the instructions. This is a gem of a book and am glad that I purchased! Kelly Weis is among my favorite designers and you will not be disappointed.

I loved these patterns. They are a little more costly to make but so so worth it! The outcome is glamorous and gorgeous and glitters. Enough g’s? I wasn’t quite up to the skill level of the book when I bought it, but the illustrations are clear as are the directions.However, if you’re not clear on how a stitch is done... internet search and viola there are wonderful tutorials. I found pictures alone to provide plenty pleasant hours of contemplation and later ideas to drive some of my own free form projects too. (After I mastered what was in the book and wanted to make some other things).Happy beading!

(PLEASE don't say my review is of no value simply because you disagree with me. I spent a whole sleepless night agonizing over this review, and punishing me for it will make me feel even worse.) I hate writing this review, I really do. I've what Ms. Wiese's other books and found them wonderful. But this book is something else altogether. The projects are, well, gaudy. I showed them to my daughter, my mother and some friends, and no one wanted even one of the projects if I made it for them. (I am SO sorry, Ms. Wiese, but I try to be honest. I do love your other two books)The expense of making the projects (as written) is another matter. One sample project requires 50 grams gold electroplate 15/0 Japanese seed beads, 34 grams crystal bronze lined AB 15/0 seed beads, 344 fuchsia 2mm Round crystals, 430 cream 3mm glass pearls, 7 fuchsia 13 x 6.5mm briolette crystal drops, 1 cream 6mm pearl, size D nylon beading thread, and thread conditioner, If all this sounds insanely expensive, that's because it is. (BTW, I didn't pick the most expensive project in the book, just the first pricey one I came to) I usually make projects with expensive materials listings by substituting less expensive materials, but the 2mm crystals makes it darned near impossible. An 8/0 seed bead is about the same size, but wouldn't have the same look at all.As I said, Ms. Wiese's other two books are fabulous, and after losing two copies of "A Beaded Romance" Ino longer lend mine out. But this book doesn't work for me at all.

The jewelry attracted me. The over the top necklace is a piece I can wear with pretty much anything if I combine it right.I always wanted a book that could go back to any time, for fun, or because I am going to a party or simply to browse. It doesn't get boring. It's great to have a book where I can have projects I could do with materials which are easy to find. This is it.The patterns are easy to follow, plenty of pictures and explanations are clear.After buying this book, I began to follow the author because her taste in jewelry is the same as mine.Thank you for this book.

Love the designs!! They’re magnificent and luxurious. Perfect for going to the theatre or gala. There are 15 in total.

I love to bead, and knowing that these patterns are customizable is fabulous! I can make it as over the top busy as I want, or simpler. The fact that the author provides that flexibility is wonderful!

I just got my copy of Exotic Adornments in the mail today. It is a beautiful book! The designs are incredible and I am looking forward to being quite a few pieces. Very well done!!

There is not one design in this book that I wouldn't make. They all are fabulous. Very happy with it.

Beautiful book with some amazing pieces. Can't wait to get started on some of them (MUST get my other work finished first though).

Nachdem ich doch lange auf das Buch warten musste, kann ich sagen: Das Warten hat sich gelohnt. In den Buch sind wunderschöne Schmuckstücke. Leider hatte ich noch keine Gelegenheit was auszuprobieren, da mir das Material fehlt. Aber ich bin mir sicher, dass es nicht mehr lange dauert, bis das 1. Schmuckstück fertig ist.
