The hat is AWESOME and looks just like the pic. Wanted one of these since I was like 5 and watched crocodile Dundee and could never find the right hat at Walmart, Dicks, etc. But this is perfect (minus the croc teeth). The leather is thick and quality feeling, though I don't know how it is in the rain yet, I will find out soon with Ohio weather. I would definitely say that for -$50, this quality of leather is unreal.

I have owned a few cowboy style hats, and they're all considerably larger and more comfortable as a result.This one is the same dimensions in ratio to those hats, but shrunken down by around 1/3rd, leaving something that looks like a cowboy hat from afar, but wears more like a tighter dress hat when on a person, like a tight fitting trilby, with a slightly wider brim, and not all that much like a cowboy hat..You'll notice on the few photographs of them how the wearers head completely fills the crown section, right to the top. You can feel your scalp as you reach to take the hat off, and to me left the look of a comedic depiction - very much not the dimensions of a Stetson western hat, just the same exact shape, causing that look of a novelty kids cowboy hat being worn by an adult.If it would just have half an inch more depth, it would sit just right.So.. I'm still looking.Though nothing to do with the hat or quality of the hat, my first, (an xl) was also crushed in transit as Amazon shipped it in a plastic bag.. Crazy, but thought it might be worth a mention for those who were asking if it could be packed..The answer from this test is, kind of, but it wrinkled the brim all around the hat where it was squashed.The replacement, a 2XL, also shipped in a plastic bag, wasn't crushed to death, but now I had the two to compare, I could figure out what was wrong with the shape and design...That lack of crown depth meant it felt both slightly too loose, but also too small as it wouldn't go onto my head enough to snug in place. The largest size allowed it to be pulled down further, but my head reached the very top, and the sides of the hat was nowhere near on far enough to hold in a traditional placement.Is there such a thing as a person with a very small flat top to their head? I guess this might suit you..Again, I loved the quality and look of the hat, but it's just.. An odd shape.

I bought this hat for a camping trip I was going on, but now I don't leave the house without it. it is 100% leather so in a dry climate it will shrink a bit if not worn. I live in west Texas and work as a welder so I don't wear it while working as it doesn't fit under a welding hood. by the end of the day it will sit about an inch or so higher than in the morning. but I find if I just wet the inside of the hat and put it on it stretches back to normal size in just a few minutes. you shouldn't have this issue in more humid climates.

This is not the Man from Snowy River hat I thought it was. The quality of the hat was okay, but the size, in spite of being made to fit adult heads, was too small. I returned mine a few days after I got it. I gave it some time to be sure that I was really not wanting to keep it based on the price and the obviously well-made condition of the product. The three-star strikes against the item are for the misleading verbiage used in the description and marketing.I look for honesty and full description in my chosen purchases. Nothing wrong with the product, only the falsely leading verbage.

Fulfilled by AMAZON so this is their fault and not the manufacturer. Hat came with right brim all bent up and top collapsed in an oversized box with 4 bubbles so hat was not secure in the box. Strap was pulled apart and frayed on both ends. I like the hat but it was also a size too small for me...barely, so I returned and ordered a different one. If this one comes not properly wrapped then screw AMAZON, I will make it to the store one of these days that is 30 miles away and buy a good one that is not screwed up in shipping. Again, really not sellers fault - the fault lies with Amazon

Just received this Aussie hat in brown and am impressed with the quality. The color is more of a cocoa brown as shown in the listing. And yes, mine has a chin strap. I normally wear 7 1/4" hats and this LARGE fits perfectly.If I ever want a black Aussie hat, this would be the brand I would purchase!

I realize there is no legal definition of "wide brim", but this seems a little on the narrow side. The effective brim width on the sides is just under 2.5". I needed something to block more sun and the pictures looked like this would do the trick.XL was too small so I had to send it back. I measure in at 23.5", which is XL for their size chart and almost every other hat I have purchased.It is a good quality hat. If you like the style, grab one.

I am a baseball hat guy, my head is bald I live in Arizona so I need to cover the dome. I have been able to find very unique baseball hats but I have always wanted a brimmed hat for everyday wear. This hat is a SCORE! First off everyone that has seen it likes it. In fact my wife loves it, It has not been too hot in the sun and the fit is great. I took off the chin strap and may remove the strap eyelets but al in all this hat is a winner.

Purchased this on a whim to accompany the handsome set of cowboy boots I have hidden away at the back my wardrobe. Considering the modest price, tag, I was not expecting such a beautifully crafted, high quality item. Made of thick, durable leather that could withstand a stampede, this hat looks totally authentic and oozes cowboy charisma. My only complaint is that it's slightly smaller than expected, but I guess that's for the best when the wind is blowing across the prairie. Hats off to Brandslock for a job well done.

I bought this hat for winter dog walking. It is (completely) waterproof, a good brim to prevent rain on my specs and down my neck, a chin cord with toggle lock for security in wind, good quality, and very reasonably priced.I wasn't overly confident in the chin cord supplied, especially when the knotted end pulled through the hole in the retaining tab. So I replaced it with a more robust nylon cord, and double-knotted it to make sure it won't slip through the retaining tab (see photo).Also, when the toggle lock is at the lowest point of the chin cord, it can be difficult to get enough of a grip on the cord to pull the toggle lock up. So I put a small loop at the bottom of the cord so that I can always get a grip when raising the toggle lock.Finally, when the hat arrives, it is stiff and retains the shape of the former on which it was made. Wearing it regularly softens the leather so that it gradually begins to conform to the shape of your head, making it fit better and feel more comfortable.

Got this for my partner who loves all things cowboy. Excellent quality, its genuine leather as it says and is a very sturdy hat, had thought it may be sort of floppy and thin but was thankfully mistaken. Looks exactly as shown. It sits a little off centre but not in a very bad way, I suppose the slight imperfection gives an authentic feel. This is designed for practical use in the outback, we are Irish so eh...not exactly the same environment and I didn't buy it for this use. It really is a beautiful hat that could easily be worn in our wet climate or at the very least its a great addition to our old west themed living space, so my partner can live his dream of being a cowboy! Its says its for men but a hat does not care for gender and the size L fits even me with my small head. All round good purchase and value for what you get

fit well, as described, would order up. first one was too small but came boxed, the second one right size, but was just in a bag, a bit squashed , but pushed back into shape
