Until I discovered these I'd been using a well known brand of shorter swabs that you find in the chemist. Those were annoying, as the shaft was made of paper and is way too flimsy. These ones are excellent though, with a long reach and a good solid wooden shaft that wont buckle during cleaning.I use these for cleaning mechanical parts of all description. Gear teeth when I'm mending power tools, lock parts, gun actions (I own antique flintlocks), blocked bathroom sink overflow pipes, the back of my dusty hi-fi - you mention it. I find they're also handy for applying dabs of glue or stain when I'm doing woodwork.I wouldn't be without these now, and I think every tool kit should have some. 5 stars!

I received this item through the Amazon Vine programme. A basic item but an extremely useful one, these 6" long cotton swabs have many uses. They are clearly marked "Industrial Use" so as not to confuse them with sterile or clinical swabs.I use them in the garage/workshop, they are great for cleaning in tight spaces, applying lubricant or adhesives or even paint & varnish in small, difficult to access areas of work.The wood shaft of the swab is much more rigid than the plastic of a conventional cotton bud so will stand up to pressure without bending or snapping.Unfortunately this particular item, currently priced at £8.99 for 100 is extremely expensive, you can find a pack of 200 for considerably less money by simply scrolling down the Amazon page. So not good value for money.Other than the price however, an extremely useful item which will be of use to anyone doing DIY/crafting or similar.

A nice quality set of swabs, with the advantage of having longer handles. I have used them to clean electrical contacts and boards, and they have not broken up with the electrical cleaner. You can put some pressure on and scrub without the tip coming off or apart. They are no better than what I was using before, but the longer handle is a boon when using for other cleaning items in harder to reach places. I would buy these again when I have used them all up.

I don't own any guns, but despite the product description, these have been useful for me. They're essentially just a bigger version of the swabs you're not really meant to put in your ears. The wooden handle is quite strong and flexible. although it will eventually snap if you apply too much force. I've used these for cleaning my laptop, keyboards, and the hard-to-reach areas of my coffee machine. The head is absorbent, so you can apply cleaning alcohol (or remove excess moisture from the cleaning surface) easily.It's a specialised product that does its job well.

Ordered and delivered via amazon within 2 days.These long cotton buds are just the job for cleaning the pipes on my solar water fountain. I'd been using brushes and having to recycle them everytime. These are not only more cost effective, they reach further into the pipe than I have been able to get before.Made from wood with lint swabs on the ends. They are easy to use and do a good job. I can see where they can be otherwise utilised. Obviously in the UK gun cleaning is left to those with licenses, but jewellery makers and repairers will love these.

These are great. Nice long wooden handles that are quite strong with well bonded cotton tips. I am using these for car detailing. I get water collecting around my windscreen seal that turns green and is very difficult to access and clean. These are ideal for the cleaning job that normal cotton buds are unable to deal with due to bending and shedding.Edit:Some jobs I’ve found the sticks break easily so I have reduced my rating. I hasten to add I am not using them for their intended purpose.
