This is different from the rest. Some are just butly with aluminum foil on top, which is very good for rattles but not so good at sound deadening. Others are just adhesive with foam on top, which is good for deadening but not for rattles. The combination of butly, foil in the middle, and foam on top, makes this a great at sound deadening at the same time making door and trunk panels more rigid. Bring it back please.

I had high hopes for this as I live in FL and it gets a bit toasty in the summer here. I have a wrangler JK with hardtops and I needed something to help combat the summer heat. I used this to coat the underside of my hardtop. After cutting to fit, cleaning the surface and using the supplied roller, everything seemed great. Unfortunately about 1 week after having it installed, I came out to my Jeep after work to find one of the panels had fallen down and was sitting on my front seat. Apparently the adhesive backing material gets soft and sort of “tar like” after being in the heat. Not really great if it is supposed to be “insulation”. Luckily I have enough left over to try again and I will attempt it with spray adhesive this time to hopefully making a more lasting attachment. The product did seem to cut road noise and kept the temperature down a few degrees but only when it stayed attached to the ceiling. Also when it fell, the tar like substance really sticks well the fabric and my seat will never be the same.

I cut this down to fit on the floor of my truck to cut down on heat and noise. After getting them installed we discovered that if we dragged our feet the mat would rip up, at least the top layer. In order to stop that from happening I had to buy car mats and lay them down on the Bowsen mat. However the car mats kept sliding off. Thus I had to glue them down. This mat tears easily and should not be used if you are going to step, walk or rub on them.

Honestly a lot better product than I had expected.Quality foam and butyl. The Butyl is as thick as my Noico 80mil.The Foam is a bit delicate when cutting and rolling, the adhesion between foam and butyl isnt the best.Overall its a solid product for not a ton of money.

Two layers of rubber with a layer of aluminum in the center. Adhesion is good. Did almost my entire trunk and had some left over.
