Montessori: The Science Behind the Genius

Excellent evidence based book
Excellent review of the psychological literature surrounding principles of the Montessori Method. The author provides a balanced review, also noting where research doesn't support Montessori (however, for the most part it does) in an objective fashion. It's also extremely informative about authentic Montessori practices. Highly recommend.

Helpful for understanding Montessori and best practices in education
As a new Montessori homeschool mom, this book has been extremely informative as I research and learn about the Montessori method. It is full of discussion of various scientific studies relating to education, which are helping me as I form my own philosophy of education and make choices regarding the education of my children.

Excellent book. I purchased it to review as a textbook to be used in an Early Childhood Education teacher training program. Full of solid information, science backed evidence and so much more. This edition has an excellent chapter on executive function. Plus -- Dr. Montessori 's method is the foundation for this book -- which in itself -- makes it worth the read. This book is full of genius.

Long but informative
Great insight into the program and does a good job explaining what to look for in a school.
