Motor Brushless Controller + LCD Display, Rainproof 24V-48V Electric Scooter Brushless Controller Kit(36V/48V 350W)

LCD setup of the controller was a little confusing, but after playing a couple days I figured it out. While setting it up be careful of what buttons on the speed control push button thing. I pressed the down button for a few seconds and the cruise control kicked in while I was setting up the bike. The bike started to take off and I needed to quickly pick up the rear wheel before it dragged my battery off the table and on to the floor. Also the speed sensor setting in the LCD setting should be set above 80 to get the correct speed. Speed on the LCD only works when you are using the motor, it drops to zero when the throttle is not being used.

This worked very well for an update to my wife's Schwinn Tailwind. I swapped the original front hub motor with a similar, but stronger Bafang 250w and used this controller and display. The only thing that didn't work at first was the pedal assist. I simply changed the configuration of the wires in the SM connector to match the controller and had no issues. So the pedal assist (PAS) in my case worked, but I needed to be mindful of matching the wires. The only down side is the throttle (which was added since the Tailwind didn't have one previously) is limited in output to whatever the PAS is set to. (that is why the minus 1 star)And fwiw, I am not using the hall sensors.

I was getting an E10 error on the LCD screen and the controller wouldn't do anything. After disconnecting a few sensors (PAS, throttle, brakes) I found out the error was coming from the PAS (pedal assist sensor). The problem was that the PAS connector and the controller connector had designated different pins for signal, ground, and positive. After rewiring the connection to match the controller, the error code went away and the controller started working. I'm still disappointed by the lack of documentation and poor explanation of the error codes that I found online. Be sure to use the "self learning" function by connecting the two green wires. The controller will check your phase signals and either spin the wheel or do nothing—if it does nothing but make noise, use the throttle to change the direction. Disconnect the green wire once the wheel spins smoothly and in the correct direction.The LCD manual is available online, just search for "s866 LCD manual pdf"----Old 1Star Review----Connected everything just as it's supposed to be, but it doesn't work. It just displays an error, E 10. I've tried adjusting some settings, but nothing seems to fix it. From my searches on there internet, E 10 means a communication error. I've checked all the connections and they are good. I have no idea why it doesn't work.Also, this product came with 0 documentation. No manual, no nothing but the controller and LCD.

My wife's new bike came with a single pedal assist setting, and throttle only, which was pretty useless for us, but since she really like the look, and style of the bike, I decided to just change out the controller.This controller is actually good for 24V, 36V, 48V. In my case it was used for 36V.If you look around on the internet you can find a list parameters that you will have to program into this unit.Once programmed you are blessed with 5 good differing levels of Pedal assist, a good watt meter, battery status, speed indicated, and headlight control. My wife is very happy with this now.

Universal brushless controller. Variable speed. Can be set up to work on any electric scooter out there. This fit the bill to replace the damaged controller on the bird one.

At $60, this is about 1/7 the price of a controller and display from GRIN, but expect to pay the difference with your time. It took several days of tinkering before I got it working with my Bafang G311 motor. It showed E07 (motor failure) for a long time despite both the motor and controller testing good, but that's resolved now. Works sensorless, but better sensored. Couldn't get it to work with my PAS, so throttle only. PAS and throttle plugs had the wrong gender (matched the plugs on my PAS and throttle).

I’ll use for a jetson bolt pro bike, doesn’t match but I knew that, I recommend to buy a connectors kit like the photo. Take your time but can be awesome when you fix it

Pending further troubleshooting this is a 1 star. The Dupont JST connectors on four connections are male - male. Really? If you're putting a kit together (display, controller) it'd be nice if they can at least be connected together!!I changed out the display side for female, triple checked all wiring and......refuses to power up. So out comes the test equipment. I'll follow up.Edit 1: signal trace = broken ground wire in the harness. It was folded pretty tight in the box so that's solved. Powers up now, on to deciphering the coding.

easy install had to warn client to keep it under 3rd in city though on 1000w hub 50v was hitting 85km/h

What a mistake ordering this package. The controller is fine, but should never have been paired with this display. The display is 24v and is paired with a 36v controller. When I ordered the "Package", I had assumed that the 2 items would install simple and compatible. 👎👎👎
