Highly recommended and relevant
This is a fascinating rethinking of the long-term impact of MIR's political work in Concepción. Beyond the Vanguard moves beyond the debates about Salvador Allende (socialist symbol, victim of U.S. aggression, failed project, etc.) and the usual focus on Chile's capital, Santiago, to examine how life changed under the socialist experiment and MIR's efforts to take the revolution to the people. Highly readable with important implications for debates about social justice and memory today.
