Forget Me Not

A genuine treasure
What a marvelous little gem this is! While I may not agree with the author's religious beliefs, I certainly have to agree with the 5 "forget nots" which were chosen in these pages. God is a loving, caring Father who will never forget His own. We would do well to remember that always. The destination may be something to always remember ("keep your eyes on the prize"), but the journey must not be rushed. There is much joy in the journey; and if we miss it, we have missed understanding that we have purpose. We miss the lessons God wants to teach us in the here and now, the fact that He is refining and preparing us for "an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison", and the truth that we should be thankful for the opportunities to share His wondrous love with those He brings into our lives in even the most ordinary circumstances of our walk with Him. The destination may be glorious, but it is only achieved by taking the journey one joyous step after another. "Rejoice in all things" and do not rush right past the blessings you have or the blessing you are meant to be. Remember the prize, but never forget that God is here even in the smallest step it might take to get there. We may be journeying toward our eternal dwelling place with God, but we will never arrive if we forget that for the moment He is dwelling within us.

Pick Up and Read, When You Need A Friend
This is the amazing talk that was given in General Conference. I can remember the first time I heard this story the power of love that washed over me. Now 6 years later that is still the case. I feel like I was sitting in a room across from him as he reminded me of my worth and just how loved I am. I also love that he gave council in how to feel that love as well. So times I worry I am past feeling. That is why I find his loving guidance a wonderful blessing.

Oh My... Uchtdorf!
I'm not LDS in membership. I have many friends that are and so I learn a lot about the religion. I was so happy to get my new tablet to find all of these wonderful e-books I can read in my leisure. This particular book had gotten a lot of raves in Relief Society and to find it as free, I knew I had to download it.First off, does Uchtdorf wife writes for him? If not, he's really in touch with the female perspective... and what a beautiful perspective this man has. I just wish this book was longer. But OMG its so beautifully written and stirs the soul so deeply. There are wonderful quotes from other notable people in it as well... not to mention most of what Uchtdorf writes can easily be placed in the history book of quotes. My friend has been going through some odd times, and I think she thinks I'm crazy reading LDS literature all of the time and usually finds whatever I learn to be odd proselytizing, but this is the first of the LDS commentary she didn't turn away and found it to be quite beautiful.I am currently reading Uchtdorf's "Your Happily Ever After"This is the best gift to give any woman/mother whether LDS or not.

Awesome Forget-Not Counsel
Another General Conference talk (Oct. 2011) prettied up and made into a book by this author. You can find and read the original discourse at lds.org.This counsel I greatly enjoyed. I like how Pres. Uchtdorf premised this talk telling of the German legend of how this beautiful flower got it's name "...just as God had finished naming all the plants, one was left unnamed. A tiny voice spoke out, "Forget me not, O Lord!" And God replied that this would be its name." and then using this flower as a metaphor for his discourse .."The five petals of the little forget-me-not flower prompt me to consider five things we would be wise never to forget.".The five things are:1.Forget not to be patient with yourself.2.Forget not the difference between a good sacrifice and a foolish sacrifice.3.Forget not to be happy now.4.Forget not the why of the gospel.5.Forget not that the Lord loves you.His words were simply keen, true, and inspiring. This will definitely be one of those books I will turn to when I need a pick me up.By the way, the images of forget-me-nots in this book were absolutely beautiful! It's definitely now one of my favorite flowers.

Such a simple flower
Although not a single pilot or plane metaphor, it was excellent nonetheless. I could hear his voice in my head as I read this.

Conference talk given by President Uchdorf
This is the conference talk given by president Uchdorf. A beautiful reminder to women of their value and worth. The hardback book, whilst beautiful, is quite pricey but the message is still there for a much lower price (only pence) when downloaded to your kindle. Love it.

Tender love for the tender flower
Any sisters feeling a little low should take the few minutes it takes to complete The Forget Me Not and imagine President Uchdorft's soft and yet powerful voice tells you how this tiny blue flower can be used to represent gospel truths, truths especially for us.

Forget me not
A beautiful, easy to read and understand , book. The messages are very appropriate for our time as we rush around trying to be perfect in everything and making ourselves miserable when we don't succeed. I love it.

A kind, reassuring book
This needs to be read several times, digested and made a part of your life. For me, remembering the why of the gospel struck a chord. Stop looking down and start looking up.
