Madras Curry Powder (SunBrand) 16oz (454g)

I used to be able to buy this at my local stores, but it seems to have disappeared a few years back. I've been buying it online ever since. It has great flavor without being too hot. The heat is just enough that it's easy to control.

This is the best Madras Curry on the planet. I have been using this brand for years. Even those who have said they don't like curry have been turned into curry lovers once they tried mine. The only mistake you can make with it is to use too much - a little goes a long way.

This mixture of spices makes a wonderful fast curry dish! This large can will last me a year or more as I use only two tablespoons at a time for a large pot of veggie curry! I will also try to make cry ketchup too! Maybe sprinkle some on eggs or other Indian inspired dishes!

The taste of this curry powder is very rich in flavor. But beware, it says it has no salt in it but it definitely DOES has salt in it. I mean, it's no big deal since I can just cut the salt I add to my curries but it would've been helpful to know this before I ended up making an extremely salty curry. Also just as a heads up, this is available cheaper in stores.

It's very salty, and not as flavorful as the container I bought some years ago. I think they're adulterating it.It still comes in a nifty container, which is some consolation.

This is not as hot as it used to be (and this could be a one-time variation,) but I love this blend! I simply add a little cayenne to intensify the heat.Other curries have too much clove for me, but this one is near perfect, IMO, and I will use the entire pound of it this year without a doubt! This is the only brand I will buy. Just because it says "Madras" curry doesn't mean it tastes the same. It is worth every penny, especially if you are a curry-lover. I use it in cold salads with yogurt or mayo-based dressing, add it to mayonnaise for sandwich spread, toss with olive oil and vegetables before roasting (especially potatoes) and make traditional Asian curries with it. Sun Brand Madras Curry Powder has a perfect balance of spices and will perk up almost anything you make!

This is some excellent curry discovered a few years ago. Hard to find so I was thrilled when I found it here.

This is my favorite brand of curry powder. I was very happy to find it on Amazon and be able to buy it in a large container. The heat is mild with all the favor you expect from a curry.
