These books are a cry of relief from the five minute books we usually read with our son and they have already taught him so much about science, nature, and particularly history. Jack and Annie, the lead characters in the series, travel through time and meet with prominent historical figures such as Equipment Queens, take a trip to the moon, spend a day with Abraham Lincoln, land in camp with General George Washington as he is ready to cross the Delaware, and even convince a young Mozart to continue his pursuit in music. They are well written books that peak interest in subjects young kids may not yet have access to and have accompanying research guides that give detailed back stories and historical guides to the subjects covered in the novels. Although the intended audience of the series seem to be for children around 8 - 10, our five year old becomes engulfed in the stories every single evening, always looking forward to what adventure Jack and Annie are heading for next.Amazon also tend to have a wider availability of the series than book stores like Barnes and Nobel at prices up to half the cost of the same.

Lauren's summary
Jack and Annie were invited to a royal party. Teddy and Kathleen gave them a magic flute that can help Jack and Annie on their mission for Merlin. After a while they met Her Imprail the magisty. Then they met Willy and Nan-nerl. At night they were looking for Willy because he was alone in the woods. Then Jack and Annie found him with some wiled zoo animals. The Funny Magic Flute
This is my daughter's review: "I am 7 and in second grade. This is a great Magic Tree House book if you enjoy funny parts. They go back in time to the time of Mozart and have a big surprise. I'm not giving it away but I can tell you it includes Teddy and Kathleen.

6-year olds dream!
My 6 year old daughter loves all of the Magic Treehouse series. The books on CD, read by the author, in different voices for each character, are wonderful! We anxiously await each new release. My daughter will sit for an hour, or more just listening to them and using her imagination to picture the scenes in her mind. I only wish there were more series like this one and more authors like Mary Pope Osborne. My son is almost 4, and they don't hold his attention as well yet, but I'm sure he will grow into them.

Another solid installment from a reliable series for children
In this typically charming Jack and Annie adventure, the two siblings wind up in 18th-century Vienna on a mission to find a "brilliant artist" and put him the right path. Of course, all along they are in the presence of said artist ("Wolfie") and never realize it. I particularly appreciate that this Merlin Mission shows art as both exciting and a worthwhile pursuit. Another solid installment from a reliable series.
