Husky Towing 30849 Weight Distribution Hitch

I was extremely happy with this set up. Great quality product. Heavy duty. The directions weren't too bad to follow. Just take your time. Had to buy larger sockets to install it since most sets don't have that large of sockets. Have a torque wrench too. But otherwise its not difficult to install. You can measure from the ground to your front wheel well before and after install and with your trailer hooked up, to make sure it's installed right and effective. Once done, my front wheel well was only 1/8" higher. Im really happy this is the one that I bought.

Best Value I could find anywere!! Saved hundreds buying on amazon! Glad I didn't go to the RV Store! First time buying a RV. I am mechanically inclined and it was difficult at first setting this up. The instructions were vague on a few things. I wasn't gonna let the RV place overcharge me at $550.00 to set my hitch up on my truck and trailer. Luckily my friend has had a few RVs gave me some help! I highly recommend this hitch if your using a half ton truck and a 26+ft. trailer its Awesome! Perfect ride height on my truck and it hardly even squats! The sway control is perfect and it tracks nicely on windy roads! My headlights are not in the air blinding oncoming traffic!

Works great! Really helped with pulling my 29' camper. The sway bar is a bit difficult to install but worth the effort! Makes the long car rides easy!My only complaint, is the box came very damaged, but all the pieces were there. The box is VERY heavy.

Just finished my first summer vacation towing a new travel trailer with a new (to me) truck using this hitch. I'm familiar with weight distributing hitches from a previous trailer. Chosen and installed correctly, they do an amazing job of putting weight back on all four wheels of the tow vehicle.In this case, I have a monster of a camper weighing in at 10,500 lbs. fully loaded. The tongue weight is 1045 lbs. This hitch did exactly what it was supposed to: Keep the weight of the trailer evened out between all four wheels on the truck. I had no problems installing or using it. Installation took about 45 minutes, mostly to read directions and bolt the sway control ball plate onto the trailer tongue. Once that was finished, it worked literally right out of the gate.I would have liked a little more lift from the bars, but ultimately the problem rests with a need for helper springs or air bags on the truck. Sway control was equally simple and effective, and believe me: That's very important when towing a long trailer. Once swaying starts it can be extremely dangerous, ultimately leading to loss of your camper. Having said that, I noticed little to no sway with the control in place, even though this is the longest trailer I've pulled - and with a smaller truck than I would normally expect to use.I recommend this to anyone planning to pull a medium to large camper. Do your research because RV dealers WILL NOT give you all the pertinent details.

Easy to install if you watch youtube how-to videos. took me over an hour because the directions were meh.The ride is much better for my 6500lb dry weight trailer, less stress on the truck suspension (audibly). The only "hard part" was drilling and threading the screws for the sway bar but still was easy. For the price, it is well worth it. The trailer gross weight is 10k, I bought the 12k hitch just in case we upgrade later. Like the product, used once so far.

Made a huge difference. Drove so much better after adding bars. Made my half ton have an ability to tow 6500 pound trailer.

Received a while ago, waited till the week before our first trip (6/20/19) of the season to install. I’ve been a carpenter for 40 years so tools & installations are usually not an issue. This one wasn’t either. I preread the instructions, then started by installing the sway bar base to the trailer. Piece a cake, and that made the remaining install a breeze. It seemed simpler then I expected but with this sort of thing I wanted to be extra certain of the final outcome.Approx. 2 hours in, and it was complete with a level truck after measuring the front & rear wheel wells of my F150 as explained in the instructions.Very happy with it. The first over the road experience was night and day difference from not using one on our 22’ Keystone Hideout.Beats spending much more elsewhere and having it installed by others.Thanks Husky

I bought this in November and finally set this up in February. So far one grease nipple was rusted and the other was completely broken off. I replaced those nipples easily. Now one of the springs for the retention bolt for the arms just broke off due to cold weather. I live in California, in the mountains and I guess the hot and cold temperatures where too much for this metal clip.Set up was difficult as the instructions left my truck way off from actual level so a lot of you tube videos later and I was able to get it set up properly with the weight distribution arms. Have not even made it to the sway control as those instructions are even worse. I am a big fan of husky products but this one really dropped the ball. Still waiting on support to help me out!!!
