They’re beautiful but don’t hold up
I replaced every knob in my house with these glass ones, and they’re beautiful, but their usefulness is really limited. Maybe if I’d bought a more expensive glass knob, I would have had better results, but here I was trying to get off cheap. I was really hoping to make it work, but I can’t, and now less than a year later, I’m starting to re-replace all the knobs in my house with standard knob kits. The first hurdle is the rosette. The screws that hold the rosette on need to screw into the wood of the door. If you’re drilling your own hole in a new door, you’re good to go, but If your doors, like mine, already have a hole drilled for a standard size knob kit, the rosette has nothing to attach to. So I’ve had free flapping rosettes this whole time. The inner spindle is the other problem. The glass knob screws onto the spindle, then tighten the screw to hold the knob in place. But those tightening screws don’t stay tight, and when the knob is loose, you’re just unscrewing it every time you open or close a door. Every week I was having to do maintenance on a knob somewhere in my house.I’d really rather just have door knobs be something that I don’t have to think about, instead of having to coach my family about proper door opening and closing techniques and having to constantly worry about my door hardware falling apart.

Additional work if your replacing an existing door knob with a larger cut out.
I purchase this knob to replace an existing knob in a house that was build in the 90's. If you try to use it on a door that already has a 2 3/8 hole cutout, then you will need to fill it because it needs the material behind the covers to screw the screws into. I tried other options other than filling the hole but to no avail. The door had a 2 3/8 hole so I filled it. (I used a larger hole saw and sanded it until it would fit in the hole, glued and screwed it in place.)

Decent; have lasted a couple months with no problems. The metal isn't very substantial for the price, but OK for the job. However, I didn't realize they came without a locking mechanism of some sort and I bought this for a bathroom door. I bought a gold hook and eye which suits the purpose, but I'd rather the doorknob locked. Also, I ordered this online because I have a new house and missed my antique doorknobs in my old farmhouse. I thought I'd only find these online. After I ordered this I found many crystal/gold locking knobs in local stores for much less cost, D'oh!

Pretty but challenging to install...
My wife loves these doorknobs but they can be difficult to install. Head on screws used to secure knobs in place strip easily. Wish they would update and utilize modern spring lock system.

Looks great
Easy to install looks great on the original wood door from the late 1800’s.

Great for me
These work great for me.Have had people turn the handles to far and wreck the spring loaded internal mechanism. That’s why I bought this. Have also had a glass handle just fall off.

Good value
No problems installing Only issue is how tight to put the handles. Too loose, they spin and dont open the door. Too tight, their hard to turn. Does the job for the price and they look decent when installed.

I'm impressed.
While it is glass, I"m impressed that it matches the crystal knob in the dining room. That one is 117 yrs old and you couldn't tell the difference. The crystal ones are quite expensive and hard to find in the re hab stores. This will do for now or maybe I'll just leave it. Only i'll know.

I bought this doorknob to replace an older crystal knob ...
I bought this doorknob to replace an older crystal knob that had broken. The bolt that runs from the door knob to the latch was too short for our existing doorknob hole. My husband ended up using a piece from the old, broken set to make this set work. The knob itself is attractive and works well now, but if you are replacing an existing doorknob or putting a knob into a door with a pre-drilled hole for the knob, you might run into problems.
